I have eaten at this snack shop a few times. Funnily, it actually comprises a chicken rice stall and economic mixed veg rice stall, not exactly snacks. “Snack” shop is very likely a mistranslation, hence they might not get as many customers as possible but it is an interesting name 🧐 nevertheless. The food is of a good quality most of the time (~85%). The staff is very friendly and welcoming, food is tasty 🍛. The chicken rice is not the best ever in the country but definitely satisfactory. I like their mixed veg rice more 👍. As some reviewers have mentioned, I have also crunched into sand while eating their vegetables a few times before. Some say it is dark and cluttered but I digress on that one. Also, truth betold the pricing is indeed inconsistent. There is no receipt given and no transparency of pricing. Cashier on duty will charge however they deem fit. Some staff on duty will charge more than others for the same amount of food. Maybe some room for improvement with transparency of pricing and hygiene. Understandably they cook different dishes every day so it will be challenging to implement those prices into the POS system but would like to see at least an effort being made. I think air conditioning will also bring in more customers. Overall I recommend anyone that wants an authentic hawker experience in Simei to consider eating at their stalls & supporting them 📈.
View on GoogleThis pack of chicken rice cost S$6.10. Look at the thinly slice meats. In the past, meat was thick and fragrance but now a few mouthful and don't think can even Chew the chicken meat. Rice smells of burnt rice smell.... Very disappointed...this will be my last.
View on GoogleThe chicken rice with vegetables cost $4.80. It was great that I could top up the vegetables from the mixed vegetable rice stall, except that I felt that the cashier was a little impatient while I chose the dishes. Rice taste good. Luckily, the auntie that was seated beside me told me ghat I could request for soup. The auntie suggested that I look at what I want first before queuing in the future. The stall has been awarded many certificates of appreciation by PA.
View on GoogleOrdered $4 of soya sauce chicken. The skin was soft but the meat was dry. I was quite surprised why the meat was dry. The portion is bigger than the other shop at Hola. Taste wise it's average.
View on Google4 stars for Fast service, reasonable price located at simei MRT.. Rice quality not bad.. better than nearby "Rice Garden" stall.. Quick service and plenty of seats.. Many choices of dish to select.. but not all dishes are delicious $4.90 for 2meats and 1 vege.
