Yew Kee is my go to for convenient braised duck rice/ kuay chup. But I had a bad experience with the uncle at Pasir Ris Mall. My face must have offended him, because through out my ordering with no pressure of a long queue, it was a 100% monologue from me, stating the order and making payment. After I got the order, he said i can grab any 汽水 from the fridge. I wanted clarification because I don't want to misunderstand his definition of 汽水, but that only riled him up further with volleys of reactions like 你不懂汽水是什么? Anyhow, I made a remark to his partner, about his attitude. And suddenly, the whole stall was his voice greeting everyone and confirming orders. Staffing at F&B is not easy. Working in F&B is not easy too. I don't expect much, just basic communication will be OK.

First time having lunch here and it was okay, made better that they had a promotion of a set for two people at $9.80. If you are a single diner, there is a promo for $4.90. The duck was nice but sliced very thin, and you have a choice of rice or kway chap. The dish came with two sliced braised eggs, some braised tofu slices, some bean sprouts and a little salted and pickled vegetable. The duck soup was a clear and light no broth and was delish.

The duck is frozen. Intestines are very smelly... Noodle no taste... Wonder how they run their businesses..

(Honored to be the 1st review 😁) I am so glad to try and found their duck rice is fresh with generous serving portion. The best thing is the soup is refreshing not too heavy w herbs! The other outlets I tried, the soup tend to have heavy herbs aftertaste and their freshness is questionable

First time here. Ordered for a take out today at ard 11.45am. Queue was not that long, staff was trying his best to cater to everyone, some were asking qns here there whether got what herbs inside and all, and staff was still trying best to answer while himself handling everything from cashiering to food preparation. My payment was accidentally calculated wrongly, staff was very apologetic and resolved it with good attitude. Just want to acknowledge and tell staff that he really has done well even with the stresses and tiredness. Food taste great! And the pig trotters were our favourite! Thank you! Work and life may not be easy, but you've done really well, keep it up! 👍🏼
