Had a lovely dining experience at Tai Er 酸菜鱼 at Pasir Ris. The food was delicious, flavourful, and very satisfying. We especially enjoyed the signature sour and spicy fish, the crispy spicy 辣子鸡 and the vegetables — everything was served fresh and tasty. The pricing was also very reasonable. After joining their membership on the spot, we enjoyed a 10% discount and paid only $60 plus for two people, which I felt was very worth it for the quality and portion. Overall, a pleasant meal with good food, reasonable pricing, and a nice dining experience. Will definitely come back again!
View on GoogleToday's visit was wonderful. One thing I really loved was the complimentary drink—it had roselle and dried orange, and it tasted so fresh, healthy, and refreshing. Unlike many restaurants where the drinks taste artificial or overly sweet, this one felt natural. The food was excellent too—every dish we ordered was delicious and full of flavor. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I'll definitely be ba
View on GoogleTai Er 太二酸菜鱼 (Pasir Ris Mall): Suan Cai Yu & Hidden Gem Sides! If you are a fan of bold Chinese flavours, the opening of Tai Er at the new Pasir Ris Mall is a massive win for Easties. We visited for a family dinner, and the experience lived up to the massive hype that surrounds this brand. It’s an energetic, well-oiled machine of a restaurant where the attention to detail extends far beyond just the food. We ordered a healthy spread of dishes to share, and for the most part, the kitchen delivered spectacular flavours. Suan Cai Fish (Chinese Sauerkraut Fish): This was the absolute star of the show! The sliced fish was incredibly silky, tender, and fresh, swimming in a robust, tangy, and numbing broth. The balance between the savory sourness of the sauerkraut and the gentle heat of the peppercorns was masterful. It is everything a signature dish should be. Mala Tofu: Flavour-wise, it was fantastic—silky tofu coated in a rich, numbing gravy. In my honest opinion, the portion size was a little on the small side, but I am certainly not complaining because the taste was completely spot on. It was actually a rare occasion where the food was so good I couldn't resist ordering a bowl of white rice just to soak up all the flavours! Stir-Fry Cauliflower: This was an absolute revelation. It was beautifully cooked with a profound wok hei (breath of the wok) that you simply cannot replicate on a home stove. It was smoky, charred, and perfectly crisp-tender. Shredded Potato Strips (土豆丝): We also tried their version of shredded potato strips. Interestingly, it wasn't the usual punchy, spicy-and-sour variant you typically find at northern Chinese stalls. Instead, this one leaned more towards the sweeter side. It was okay, though fans of the classic tangy version might find the flavour profile a bit unexpected. La Zi Ji (Spicy Sichuan Fried Chicken): This was the only slight letdown of the night. Given how spectacular the fish and cauliflower were, the La Zi Ji felt a little disappointing and lacked the punchy, crispy execution we expected. Tai Er really shines when it comes to the overall customer journey. I absolutely loved the DIY Roselle Tea station, which is completely free-flow. They provide dried Roselle flowers and tangerine peels, allowing you to customize and brew your own hot, refreshing tea at your table—a perfect palate cleanser against the numbing mala tones. Furthermore, they show an incredible attention to detail for the modern diner. Every dining table comes fully equipped with a built-in USB-C cable and charging points. It's a small touch, but immensely practical for families on a night out. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was highly efficient. Staff were prompt, and the food arrived at our table surprisingly quickly. The legendary Suan Cai Fish and the smoky cauliflower alone make this a place worth returning to. Highly recommended for family dinners!
View on GoogleIt was my first time trying these popular dishes I’ve seen at many restaurants, and I ended up really enjoying them. The potato dish was a little salty for my taste, but I still managed to finish it. This is the great place for family gatherings, and I liked that they offer complimentary self-serve tea as well.
View on GoogleWe had the 2 pax signature suan chai and fish, which comes with vegetables. We chose non-spicy, which still had a milder spiciness level. There are paid drinks on tge menu, but we had the complimentary DIY tangerine peel roselle (there are hot and cold versions), which is quite effective for cooling down the spiciness. Value for money.
