Love the claypot chicken rice! The bottom layer of scorched rice was nicely charred and crispy. It was easy to scoop out the whole layer too. Chicken chunks were tender and rice was flavourful. Mee hoon kueh soup from Nam Kee Pau was comfort food! Light broth with generous amount of mushrooms. Perfect with the runny egg!
View on GoogleDidn’t want to trust online bad reviews of the popiah here, but this is really next level no-go. Popiah was $2.70 each, which is understandable in an aircon area. But: - lettuce within had a sharp bitterness and tasted unfresh -popiah skin is nice, but ruined by the overly sweet sauce soaked up by the skin - peanut bits were less than average popiah As a popiah lover, i really can’t recommend this stall to anyone and hope their food quality improves :( For the carrot cake, it was pretty ok but $9 is too ex for 1 layer of white carrot cake + a small portion of the black carrot cake.
View on GoogleTasty Malaysian Favourites in a Convenient Mall Setting I’ve visited Malaysia Boleh! at Pasir Ris Mall a few times with my family, and it’s always been a pleasant experience. The food here is generally above average, with a good variety of classic Malaysian hawker dishes under one roof. I’ve personally tried the wanton noodles, Penang fried kway teow, and chendol — all of which were tasty and satisfying. Prices are reasonable for a foodcourt located in a busy mall, and the convenience of having so many Malaysian staples in one place makes it a reliable dining option when we’re in the area. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving Malaysian flavours without leaving Singapore.
View on GoogleHorrible Penang char kueh teow. No wok hey, not hot, just fry with black sauce, I think he haven’t eaten the actual thing. Not worth eating, don’t border to come.
View on GoogleBought the fish noodles takeaway and was disappointed. Soup spilled all over the plastic bag upon reaching my car which is less than 5 minutes. Not sure is it the China lady cashier who did not close the lid properly or the container just cannot make it. I have to go back and request for soup refill. The staff were not happy and blamed me for not holding the container properly. Told me I can only refill once and I need to tie the bag. I was holding a ton of other stuffs as I am not only taking away from this store. You mean I have to use both hands to hold the container to prevent the soup from spilling. Thanks for the advice. I will not go back for takeaways again. Please relook into your container as well. It is not practical for takeaways! Even lousier than those transparent type of containers. You are selling soupy stuff nd the lid is easily opened up. It opened up again when I reached home. Luckily this time round, the soup did not spill out.
