Visited Butahage (Pasir Ris) with my family recently. Service was prompt, and we appreciated the complimentary tea — a thoughtful touch that set a positive first impression. Prices also seemed reasonable and fairly affordable for the area. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. While the bentos were presented attractively and looked promising at first, the quality fell short. The pork was thin, bland, and quite chewy, lacking both flavour and texture. The tendon was SUPER disappointing. The staff only apologised, no effort to redeem themselves. Can't really trust the high rating here - they give $5 return voucher for good reviews, needless to say I didnt bother. Would not return.
View on GoogleWe had the weekday dinner bento and really enjoyed it! The pork is very very tender and the tempura was excellent. Will definitely come again! They really take pride in their food. Presentation and all the side dishes are very thoughtful. Compliments to the staff!
View on GoogleButahage (Pasir Ris Mall): A Treat in Hokkaido Butadon! If you’re looking for a reliable spot for a business dinner that’s efficient yet high-quality, Butahage at the Pasir Ris Mall is a fantastic choice. We visited for a weekday dinner, and the experience was pleasant from start to finish. The star of the show is undoubtedly their Signature Obihiro Meibutsu Butadon. All three of us ordered it, and the consensus was unanimous: it is exceptionally good. The pork slices are thick-cut and charcoal-grilled to perfection, boasting a beautiful smoky char that balances the sweetness of their legendary 80-year-old secret tare sauce. We were impressed by the texture of the meat—tender with just the right amount of fat cap to keep it juicy without being overly greasy. The glaze is rich and umami-packed. It’s not just a "sweet soy" sauce; it has a depth that comes from decades of tradition. Call me a garnish obsessed foodie. I love that they stick to the tradition of topping the bowl with exactly five green peas. It adds a nice pop of color and a bit of a nostalgic touch to the presentation. The set also came with a very comforting bowl of miso soup and some light pickles, which helped cleanse the palate between those rich, savoury bites of pork. The outlet at Pasir Ris Mall has a bright, modern, and clean aesthetic that works well for a professional catch-up. Despite being in a busy mall, the service was prompt and attentive, making it easy to focus on our conversation rather than waiting for our food. Overall, Butahage delivers a focused menu where they’ve clearly mastered their signature dish. If you are in the East and want a hearty, authentic Japanese meal that never misses the mark, this is the place.
View on GoogleFood is decent the place is quiet on weekdays. Good place for Japanese rice bowl , fried stuff. Pricing wise is Okey ,a little bit on the high side.
View on GoogleWe loved it so much we came back for a second round the next next day! Didn’t take photos because we ate it too fast but here is a photo of our polished bentos! Thank you to the staff once again for being so helpful and for serving such good food 😋 🍱
