Had a short staycay at the hotel to take some time to rest and disconnect from the busyness of life, and this hotel never fails to comes to mind for it's location and access to nature. Had dinner with my wife at the restaurant and it was totally empty when we reached at 6pm. Was torn between choosing something familiar (such as steak or mee goreng) or brand new (saffron seafood risotto), decided to go with their brand new item recently added onto their menu, with my wife opting for their signature aglio olio with watermelon salad and truffle fries on the side. Didn't quite enjoy the risotto as much as I thought I would as the flavours didn't quite make sense to me - with the seaweed, and capsicums, squid, prawn and seaweed, and the saffron spice just didn't quite work together nicely for my palette. The spices formed the majority of the flavour which made it taste alot more Asian than European (looked lot more like Spanish paella than risotto). The watermelon salad was refreshing, had the savoury from the olive and cheese cubes, sweet from the watermelon and sour from the balsamic vinegar. Fries were tasty, nicely fried and crunchy, came with mayonnaise and honey mustard on the sides which were great. Their signature aglio olio was served in tomato sauce instead of the traditional olive oil and garlic. The linguine was cooked al dente, prawns had a nice bite and crunchy to it's texture. Overall, was a pleasant plate of pasta to say the least. Enjoyed the service rendered by the server who attended to our needs. Would suggest for the restaurant to play some light background music to add a bit more warmth and vibes to the place as it felt a bit cold, probably cos it was empty when we visited. Overall, it was a nice place to have some peace and quiet there with my wife, which served the purpose of us being here for the night!
View on GoogleThe food is amazing here!!! I really love the food, the beef is so tender and most especially the team is nice! Beef Steak, Brocolli, the dessert, it is amazing!
View on GoogleThis place is incredibly quiet; in fact, we were the only customers there for dinner. The peaceful atmosphere made for a relaxing dining experience. We ordered the Malaysian-style Mee Goreng, Steak & Frites, Signature Aglio Olio, and Ayam Percik. When we placed our order for the Ayam Percik, the staff promptly informed us that it would take approximately 25 minutes to prepare, which we appreciated as it allowed us to set our expectations. The Mee Goreng was absolutely superb full of rich flavors, well-balanced spices, and a perfect hint of wok hei. The Signature Aglio Olio was cooked to al dente perfection, with just the right amount of garlic and spice to elevate the dish. The Steak & Frites was well-prepared, featuring a tender and juicy steak complemented by crispy, golden fries. Overall, the food was well-executed, and the quiet ambiance made for an intimate dining experience.
View on GoogleDuring my attendance at a company event held at Changi Cove Hotel, I had the opportunity to experience the offerings of their restaurant, the White Olive, over a span of two days. The dining experience, although featuring a somewhat restricted selection of options, presented a noticeable inconsistency in food quality. On the initial day, when the restaurant boasted a full house, the cuisine delivered an acceptable standard. However, the following day, with only half the occupancy, there was a discernible decline in the quality of the food. This inconsistency left me with mixed impressions about the overall dining experience at the White Olive within Changi Cove Hotel.
View on GoogleOur first visit here. Really nice and quiet place with good ambience and great service. The very very high ceiling of the place makes everything looks very spacious. We had the dry prawn Laksa which was really a pasta. The paste was very yummy though the prawn was dry and overcooked. We also tried the black bean beef rice which was served with black purple rice. That was wonderfully delicious with the fragrant rice and absolutely tender beef. Very friendly and helpful service staff.
