The zi char stall at this coffee shop has always been my favourite place for a quick meal, alone or with friends and family. On a rainy night, do consider trying the fish head steamboat. Besides this stall, they do have other food options such as The King of Fried Rice, Skinny Chef that offers Western Food, Hai Kee Chicken Soy Sauce Chicken Rice and a few other stalls.
View on GoogleWe bypassed this food court when going to Parkway East Hospital to visit my daughter-in-law and newborn grandson. We tried their XO fried rice with pork chop $8.50. Additional sunny side up $1.00. The pork chop was very tender and juicy. Fried rice was nice, too, not soggy. Portion was reasonably good. The pok phiah $2.20 each roll was good. Many other options available black sauce chicken rice, rojak, Western food, Mee pok, yong tau foo, and zichar stall with curry fish head, assam fish head, and other delicious dishes.
View on GoogleGood neighbourhood food court. The coffee shop serves traditional breakfast and their kopi is really good (plus they have very friendly staff) the fish ball noodles are quite good and the aunty is really nice. The chicken rice place is top notch, really great soya sauce chicken and roasted chicken. Make sure to take soup as it's the real thing. The economical rice always has a good choice of food, some could be less salty but in general it's also a great choice.
View on GoogleLots of good choices! Went to 3 stalls. Worth it! More in-depth reviews below. Koo Kee Yong Tau Fu: I ordered the set with a bowl of Yong Tau Foo soup and dry noodles. They are generous with the portion of Yong Tau Foo (5 pcs). The noodles has that aromatic minced meat flavour bursting with flavour which blasts me back to my childhood with every bite! I have never been able to find any other place that sells food with this particular flavour. The taste has been consistent over the months that I have patronised. I would love to come here daily if I lived close enough! Skinny Chef: The Popcorn Chicken ($4) was a huge portion! Plus, it is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! Very different from other places where they're usually fried till dry and have stale oil taste. The chicken does not have the stale taste of oil. Same for the Onion Rings ($4), no stale oil taste and you get 10 pcs! Haikee Soya Sauce Chicken: I love Set B! There's vegetable, fried wanton (5pcs) and of course the soya sauce chicken rice for $7+. The fried wanton is very crispy and light! But the wanton is usually sold out by about 1pm so the early bird gets the worm! For fried wanton only it is $4 for 10 pcs. Overall this place has a variety of affordable and tasty food. It's certainly worth traveling to this coffee shop!
View on GoogleI ordered a chicken bao at the drink stall, but the experience was quite unpleasant. There was an auntie and a younger man working there. When I asked for chicken bao, they pretended not to understand and were laughing with each other, which felt quite mocking. Eventually the auntie said sorry, but by then the situation had already made me uncomfortable. What confused me is that I have ordered the exact same thing from this stall several times before and they understood me perfectly then. So I don’t understand why today they suddenly acted like they couldn’t understand. It honestly made me feel like they didn’t want to sell it to me. Because of this experience, I won’t be returning. That said, the chicken bao itself is actually quite tasty. It’s just unfortunate that the service experience spoiled it.
