This place has been around for 30 years but I’ve only been to it recently thanks to a recommendation from my friend, and honestly everything about it is perfect. Before we even get to the food, this restaurant hits the spot for its experience. The size of the restaurant is decently small such that you get a warm and cozy feel, and the service staff is able to engage all their patrons satisfactorily. The setting is suitable for both casual dining or special occasions, as it brings about a very comforting ambience — perfect for friends and family (or even a date night!). When we first arrived, we were greeted with smiles and brought to our table immediately (we reached around 1800 with a reservation but evidently the place was still quite empty; it did quickly pack up while we were dining so I do recommend getting reservations just to be safe). The service staff would happily take you through the menu and offer advice on food options based on your personal preference if you have no idea what to order, and they are very exuberant and enthusiastic in their service (This is perhaps one of the few restaurants I’ve never had to ask for a refill and my glass of water was kept full for the whole evening). Now let’s dissect the food. When you first chance upon the menu, the prices might shock you as they are pricier than most other Mexican restaurants. However, this restaurant is not like other Mexican restaurants — their portions are large (for context, I am someone who could usually eat a full burrito along with nachos, fries and 2 tacos at GYG and this restaurant’s portions genuinely satisfied me) and every single ingredient they use has been sought from the freshest locale. In my opinion, the amount we paid for the food was more than worth it. For 2 people, we ordered a side dish with 2 mains along with 2 drinks and 2 desserts and we were genuinely filled to the brim. Their margaritas are so fresh and crisp (I recommend trying the jalapeño and lime margarita — it’s really so unique) and for starters we had their jalapeño cheese fritters and it was crispy and the cheese was so yummy. For our mains we got a chicken quesadilla (you can ask for more sour cream and sauces) and a beef stuffed chimichanga (which is a must try). The chimichanga had a very crispy exterior and they were really generous with the beef stuffing! The dessert was amazing — we got churros and tiramisu which is frankly a very huge portion worthy of their price.

We got the carne asada (300gm of beef with some sides/sauces, and 5 tortillas) - this was so juicy, tender, and the sides went so well with the beef and also with the queso fundido (nachos and cheese mix) we ordered. I love that we could mix and match across the dishes we ordered and everything paired perfectly. Service/recommendations were great and they kindly served a dessert (soooo delicious) when I mentioned it was a birthday celebration. Our first time but will not be the last.
