The food is incredibly unappetizing, expensive, sour to the point of being inedible. I always give positive reviews. But this place is really hard to stomach.

If you like China food, maybe this is your schtick. It's ok for me but overpriced and heavily seasoned. Ok for satisfying cravings but not really for great food.

Been here several times to try out the different offerings. I have eaten Mala from many stores and safe to say, Mermaid is probably the worst I have ever tried. It’s oily and way too salty. The salt level differs every time though but count yourself lucky if the saltiness doesn’t assault your tastebuds (i tried it more than once to see if it was just a bad day for the chef but nope). Their rice sets are still decent but pricey for a neighbourhood store.

This place serves authentic mala bbq fish hotpot.
