Worst Siew Mai that I have ever eaten - bland and flavourless. Not recommended at all. Avoid. The fried prawn paste fritter was much better, stuffed with a good amount of ingredients and was also well fried. Worth trying.
View on GoogleDidn't know this dim sum eatery at nearby. Somemore they have been opening for a year. Happened to see online recommend. Went to order for it. Who knows the staff was busy looking at his 2 phones. Wondering why need to do biz since didn't want to entertain customer but to own mobiles. Had lou mai gai since the other brand stopped selling it. Siew mai need to order 3 pieces, cos it is in threesome 🤦♀️
View on GoogleNot cheap and most certainly not good tasting. Those 5-star reviews got me like??? Siewmai not hot enough, Har gau got some weird flour thinggie along with the prawn, porridge was gooey like glue, and chicken feet was too sweet. Only the steamed ribs was passable. Also they missed out about $10 of our order. Ouch. Had to go back to the stall to ask them for it (which they rectified after counting what was served thankfully). Windy and good place to people watch but other than no reason to visit.
View on GoogleThe stall is in a crowded coffee shop. Introduced by a friend and found the dim sum not too bad. The dim sum price starts from $2.20. They even have Century Egg Dumpling! I like the meat they put inside their dumplings - don't feel fatty, just feel clean! 😂 Will go back again to try their other options.
View on GoogleBustling on an early Sunday morning, with light crowds forming at 0830 in the morning is this workhorse dim sum shop. 5 or 6 staff constantly busy preparing, taking orders, packing so you don't actually wait too long in line. Price wise it is generally pretty value for money across the board. I first tried the char siew bao and enjoyed the filling which wasn't too sweet or gooey. However i didn't appreciate the dough to make up more than 50% of the whole bao. The kong bah bao was the same when it came to the dough - too high dough to filling ratio. The kong bah itself was great. Fantastic to be exact. It wasn't just braised pork in a sweet, salty sauce. You can actually pick up the hint of star anise that stands out from the braise. The last bao, the liu sha was the most disappointing amongst the 3. The dough was tough and dense, and the liu sha was too sweet with the most sweetness coming out unnaturally at the end of the notes. Tasted like condensed milk at the ending. The siew mai was great though. It looked totally unappealing and I thought it would be terrible but it ended up being so well cooked, still light pinkish in the middle. The pork was fresh and marinated well - felt as though there were little bits of something crunchy in it but I couldn't figure out if it was or it was just a placebo of sorts. Would have given this a 4 stars except that I heard them being rude to the lady after me and that doesn't fly with me at all. @goodfoodwrite - instagram & YouTube
