so lucky to score a hands-on learning experience to make Teochew Png Kueh, conducted by Quara and her mom Mrs Yoon (aka Lim Lee Hoi). The time went so quickly, but every minute was packed full of tips, knowledge, tasting and doing. If you sign up to do this course at their premises in Aljunied, you can actually fry the ingredients for the filling (rice) yourself. Due to lack of time and power points, we observed how Mrs Yoon assembled the prep ingredients, then measured out the skin we made to encase the filling and practiced our newly learnt skills to fill the mould to make 3 Png Kueh each. What a fun and enjoyable morning! Thanks to Heritage Festival for organising this event. And Mrs Yoon for the complimentary box of home made Muah Chee. Yum!

I ordered the Graceful Platter of assorted png kuehs for Father's Day and my parents really enjoyed the kuehs. The flavour of the filling and skin were fantastic, and my parents loved the texture because the skin were very delicate/thin. Even my mom who is usually very picky was full of praise of the kuehs. The service was also very good and prompt via WhatsApp. They helped me design a lovely card for Father's Day with our message. I really appreciate how quickly they took the order online and delivered within agreed timing. Highly recommended! Will definitely order again! Thanks Yoon's Social Kitchen!

Came for lunch on a Thursday around 12.10pm. The place was full, we had to share a table. Ordered the curry chicken rice and fried sotong & prawns Hokkien mee sets with lemongrass drinks (very healthy as they had no sugar). The food was quite good. Had ice kacang as well (forgot to take photo 🫢) that was some what healthy too as the kacang had no sugar. The place has a nice retro ambience. It's not noisy and easy to have quiet conversations. Heard about their Teochew kueh and dabao some for tea. They are quite good as well, although would be much better if the skin are a bit thinner. There is a discount given for senior citizens 👍🏼.

Attended the Png Kueh Workshop, it was a fun, light-hearted, yet enriching session to know more about teochew heritage and food. The deco of the place is special and filled with heritage. I bought the muah chee back as my son really loves them after trying once at an event :) Will come back and try the food at the cafe with my family and friends soon!

I came back here the second time with my family to Yoon’s as I’m missing their Teochew kueh. Yoon’s social kitchen is a cafe at a HDB block that serves traditional Teochew kueh and meals at affordable/fair prices. They even give senior citizen discount too. CDC vouchers could be used here :) First time when I came, most of their kuehs were all sold out by 12pm+ so it is advised to be there before 11am if you want to eat the Kuehs. Second time we reached by 9-10am and managed to order a variety of their kuehs to try out. My personal favourites are the png kueh and Mang Guang kueh. I also noticed that their Soon kuehs are hot favourite in the neighbourhood as they are constantly bought by people in the queue. For their meal dishes, we find that their Mee Siam, Mee rebus and long tong pretty average. So if you are looking to try something very tasty with flavours that has a punch, probably not here. But at $4-5+ it’s considered decent. Their Hokkien mee and curry chicken are not bad and I recommend to try. I will surely come back again for more of their kuehs next time!!!
