Nice place to chill after work that accepts CDC vouchers. A nice neighbourhood getaway just below the block. Food might be a little pricey depending on what you order. Outdoors are pet friendly, and you can bring your dogs there. Place is well ventilated and cool, an escape from the evening sg heat. I like the Summer drink very much(i forgot the name) - its a green fruity soda with little tadpole jelly bites in it - the tadpole jelly is very nostalgic for me. Their soup comes with toasted bread slices, and their carbonara is very tasty and creamy. For their brunch sets it is also quite tasty - their eggs benedict and smoked salmon with hollandaise eggs are quite nice and foolproof. Burgers aren't very good though, I'd recommend you try the non burger stuff. Waffles and ice cream are very good, and I think it is worth the value, there are a large range of ice creams to choose from.
View on GoogleGreeted by the friendly staff, we started our meal with the soup of the day (cream of spinach) served with two sliced baguette. Cream of spinach is quite uncommon and it was our first time having one. We liked it so much that we questioned why this is not available at all western eateries. Though we thought it would go better with croutons, or they could have toasted the baguette. We all love melted cheese. Look at that cheese pull from the seafood gratin and the big plump prawns! The tangy tomato base sauce cuts through the greasiness of the overwhelming cheese, making it a doable dish to conquer by two pax. On another hand, "Black Mama Pork Burger" really lives up to its name. Slapped in between the fluffy charcoal bun is the pork patty that has lots of finely chopped veggies like carrots and onions which reminded us of how our mother used to make us eat more vegetables. Mildly seasoned to retain the natural sweetness of the pork and vegetables, it really tasted like something that is homemade. Reservations are recommended if you are visiting during lunch or dinner peak hours. This cafe has been a long-time popular spot in the old neighbourhood.
View on GoogleNice cafe at Toa Payoh central area. Cost and warm ambiance. Nice food but not pricy and no other hidden charges. Sufficiently wide food spread. Enjoyed the experience.
View on GoogleFood is of good portion. The burger bread has been toasted which is a nice gesture. The patty taste good and thick. Fries is very crispy. Teriyaki chicken pizza is a bit salty due to the sauce though.
View on GoogleJust had dinner with family at The Larder Cafe. First time visit. Like the food. The sirloin steak was juicy and thick. The pizza and the waffles are good too.
