Nice soy sauce chicken, very tender. Overall quite a good experience. Unfortunately the shop didn't serve a menu, will be very good for all customer if they can add one. Luckily we Google and found the menu. Chicken portion was medium (2 ppl portion I guess) although we ordered for 1 pax portion. Roasted meat got smell, ok but not superb. Dumpling soup average. Recommend to try their soy sauce chicken with fragrant oil rice!

The end of a wonderful chicken rice journey is when yr favourite go-to chicken rice place is closing it's doors come Sep 13, 2023. I've been coming here with my family (3 generations of Tans) for over 50yrs. Food still as good as ever. Restaurant is clean, staff are helpful, and service is quick. Best soya sauce chicken rice I've ever had all my life. Also good dumpling soup, roast pork n charsiu, and their various sides. Sad to eventually reduce this place to just a good memory, but I bid the owners all the best n thank them for the memories.....

03 Feb 2023: Friends on a 9 hours stopover from Auckland are craving for chicken rice and we brought them to Toa Payoh...awesome lunch and they hope to come back for more. 19 Dec 2021: Been here many times and one of the best place for chicken rice. Tender soy sauce chicken, flavorful fluffy rice and nice chilli with garlic. We added roast pork and char siew platter, dumplings soup and one vegetable. Yummy and will be back for more!

Chicken rice excellent. Soy sauce taste brilliant, vegetable crunchy and not so salty. Pork lard can be better and fresher Rice is fragrant and staff is friendly. Service is fast. Price is on the side though

Lovely soy sauce drizzled chicken that's yummy and full of flavour. The bean strouts were also generously covered in pork lard (which is double the pleasure for me). The roast meats are crispy, & above average at best. The service team were fast and friendly too. Had a wonderful breeze this rainy afternoon & just added to the old-school atmosphere which we loved. ❤️👍
