This is really decent value. and the place was already half full after it started business for the day in barely 20minutes!! portions were hearty, they dont scrimp, and are very hygeine. so generous that, they do not hesitate to throw so much msg and salt in your food, i walked out with a little phobia. but that does not discourage me from returning. it just so happens that i ordered food that are pretty dense and heavy in flavors, and they kinda overdo it. rice and soup are freeflow for a small fee, the first serving they serve you, subsequent top ups are entirely free , just help yourself. the staff although not the best, no smiley but they are efficient, proactive and swift in actions. these are the bare minimal in customer service and everyone will surely appreciate it. the lion ball although cut into half was still alot on the plate to fill minimum 3 diners in one portion. steamed brocoli with appropriate texture is served to balance the taste, but i wished there were more than 4 pieces though. the lionball was a little different from elsewhere, there was a very strong ginger taste in it. while braised pork belly was done mostly with wellness in texture, cubed enough for right texture. daikon is cooked with it to absord the gelatin and make it less oilt and i had 4 quail eggs in my portion. i look forward to trying other dishes the next visit soon.
View on GoogleSmall cosy comfortable restaurant. Located conveniently within walking 🚶🏻♀️ distance of Toa Payoh MRT Station 🚉. All items priced reasonably. Value for money. Many items on menu to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful . Food tastes great. Will definitely come back again.

View on GoogleFinally visited this Chinese restaurant after walking past it so many times — and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Braised Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Minced Meat Eggplant, Sambal Kang Kong, and Fried Enoki, and every single dish was packed with flavour. Everything paired perfectly with plain rice 🤤 The fried enoki was especially memorable — wrapped in beancurd skin, deep-fried to crispy perfection, and sprinkled with fragrant Chinese spices. It was fresh, crunchy, and seriously addictive. The rice itself was so fragrant and perfectly textured that I ended up having two bowls! Even better, rice refills are free. 😋 They also serve complimentary seaweed egg soup for dine-in customers, which was light, comforting, and surprisingly tasty — such a nice bonus. 🤩 Be prepared to queue during peak hours, as it gets quite busy. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again! 💯
View on GoogleLunch at Lao Wei Dao Sha Guo Bao “老味道砂锅煲” at 12 noon. My very first visit here and the portion is rather big. For 2 person can simply order 2 dishes. I have ordered 2 dishes- Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens “砂锅酸菜鱼” and Mapo Tofu “麻婆豆腐煲” $6.80 as well. Plus points: Rice $1 is refillable and there is free flow of piping hot seaweed and egg flower soup,“紫菜蛋花汤“。 in addition, there is no service charge, only GST 9%.. The total bill is $20.27. Very reasonable. One food stall at my estate charges $8.00 for dried noodles The staff are helpful and friendly. Many are Chinese speaking. The food is more to salty and spicy. May request the chef to reduce the level. 重口味一些。 I feel numbness after consuming the Mapo Tofu. Thankful for the tasty soup and lime drink. Will definitely come back for their other dishes. Loving this outlet at 190 Toa Payoh Lorong 6 #01-588 Singapore 310190. No reservation needed.
