Suddebly had craving for japanese food so decided to drop by our neighbourhood japanese restaurant ichiban boshi. Dishes were executed nicely and very promptly served. Forgot to take photos of the main set meal as we were too hungry. Special shoutout to Benny for the wonderful service and smile. He was also seen rubbing his shoes against the floor mat after stepping out of the kitchen to ensure the oil residue from the kitchen does not spread to the restaurant floors which allowed a safe environment for both patrons and the crew. Well done Benny and the rest of the staff!

This Japanese 🇯🇵 restaurant 🍱 has been around for a while 📆 now and we have dined here many times ⏲️before. Restaurant – Located just 3️⃣ mins walk 🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️from Toa Payoh MRT 🚇(Next to Mc Donald’s 🍔🍟), it is along the stretch of eateries or Opposite Watson. It is always crowded 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 and most of the time, you will need to queue for a table. The restaurant has been renovated 🛠️🪚👩‍🔧🧑🏻‍🔧👨‍🔧 recently and it always has this bright 💡, clean 🫧🧽🧼and grand design / atmosphere when you walk in. 😮 Staff – Again, it’s a scan 📲 QR code and self-service sort of restaurant. Staff 💁🏻‍♀️ that showed us to our table was friendly. Got us seated and we scan a QR code to order. No further interaction 🗣️ till the server serves us the food 🍜🍚🍱. I made a request for ginger 🫚and also topped up of green tea 🍵. That’s as much service as you are going to get. Food – Order 📝 a wide variety of dishes and it was all pretty good. I had Hotate Cheese 🧀 Yaki, Chicken 🐓 Katsu Toji + Miso Soup 🥣, Soft Shell Crab 🦀, Lobster 🦞Salad Inari and a Half Udon 🍜. Overall, they have kept the consistency over the years, but I noticed that they are all a little saltier 🧂 than usual 😛. Really thirsty after dining there. I will highly recommend the Soft-Shell Crab and Chicken Katsu Toji + Rice. (Really good combination for a meal 👍👍👍) 😎 The cost 💵 is also very reasonable, the meal above cost me $55 with Service Charge and GST. I will say that’s pretty amazing considering it is Toa Payoh Central. 🤩 #Lastsushiplaceintoapayoh #japaneseintoapayoh #goodjapanesefoodintoapayoh

I WANT REFUND. RUBBISH SERVICE and still CHARGE $10.27 service charge, SO EXPENSIVE. Eat there on 15 November 2025 (Sat), 2.44pm. Girl waitress serving my Kuri Buta Don SPILLED Miso soup on our table. DID NOT wipe table or change a new soup for me. IS SHE EVEN TRAINED TO SERVE? FIRE HER NOW. Raised our hands, nobody come refill our tea. Food is disgusting, portion is very very very small. Miserable. Miso soup and salmon super salty. Ebi is not crispy at all, taste like FLOUR. This kind of food NOT for humans to eat. Hawker centre food 1000 times better than this. Why am I paying $124 for rubbish!? I WANT REFUND. NOW. This restaurant is SCAM. Standard FAIL and $10.27 for service charge?! Oh, I pay them $10.27 for her to spill my miso soup on the table. People who see this, DON’T EVER VISIT Ichiban Boshi. Pay so much money, eat bad food, still need put up with bad service. Workers there are RUDE, untrained, don’t even smile and when you ask them refill tea, they pull a long face at you. Come on, I paid for your service! Jolly well DO YOUR JOB. I WANT REFUND FROM YOU, Ichiban Boshi. RUBBISH SERVICE. I GOT PROVE OF RECEIPT.

Loved the dishes I ordered. The kajiki (swordfish) was very fresh without any gristles. But I would prefer the sweet potato salad to have more green leafy vegetables. Service was good as they kept topping up the green tea.
