I had a great dining experience at the Toa Payoh Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao with my husband last night. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, creating a very comfortable dining atmosphere. The service was excellent and food was served promptly, dish by dish. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious.

Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao is a reliable spot when you are craving comforting Chinese cuisine, especially their signature xiao long bao. The dumplings are consistently well-made, with delicate skin and a flavourful broth inside. It is not the most mind-blowing version you will find, but it is satisfying and dependable. Beyond the xiao long bao, the menu offers a good range of classic dishes, from noodles to stir-fries, making it an easy choice for group dining. The food quality is generally consistent, which is something I appreciate. The overall experience leans more toward casual and convenient rather than exceptional. It is a place you can count on for a decent, fuss-free meal, even if it does not stand out as the best in its category.

Given the long-standing reputation of Crystal Jade, our recent meal was a bit of a disappointment. While the food is consistent, it feels very average when compared to the likes of Din Tai Fung or the Paradise Group. For the price point, I expected a bit more 'wow' factor. It’s a functional choice if you have a specific craving for Chinese food and happen to be nearby, but otherwise, there are definitely more rewarding dining experiences to be found elsewhere.

Today we dined at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Toa Payoh, and the experience was very disappointing. The restaurant’s air-conditioning was terrible, the whole place felt warm and uncomfortable throughout the meal. It made the dining experience very unpleasant, especially when having hot dishes and noodles. We gave feedback to the manager, hoping they could do something or at least show some concern. Unfortunately, the response we received was simply that it was “beyond their control.” There was no apology, no effort to improve the situation, and no sense of customer care. For a well-known restaurant brand, we expected much better service and dining comfort. Food may be decent, but poor environment and indifferent service really spoil the overall experience.

Have visited a couple of times for lunch and I must say the food is delicious and satisfy my cravings and the service is fast. The staffs are attentive and friendly too,Highly recommended. ( Pictures are taken over a few visits)
