+ Xiang Ji Roast Budget Meal Charsiew rice ($3.50) Chicken + Charsiew/Pork/Ribs rice ($5) Duck + Charsiew/Pork/Ribs rice ($5.50) - Ordering queue system unclear. Male cashier seems to randomly take orders from different people. There are 2 coffeeshops in this block. This stall is located in the dark gray one at the North end (Chai Hock Eating House). + Quieter compared to the other coffeeshop. + Clean

Classic done traditionally well; I find myself reverting back to this chicken rice spot in toa payoh whenever I have a craving for the simple pairing of chicken and oil rice. A classic done consistently well throughout the years - tender roasted chicken, flavourful rice and chili sauce with good amount of heat that caters to both spice lovers and the masses. Wish that they have grated ginger sauce to round this off perfectly. Usual order of roasted chicken breast with additional meat + another serving of roasted pork or charsiew - generous portion for those seeking higher protein options below $10 like me. My only negative issue here would be the newer choppers would occasionally chop the meat in rough or non uniformed slices which makes the bite a little bit tougher than the usual - a point I usually overlook in the chase for high protein portions.

Tried the roasted chicken, char siew, roasted pork belly and chicken feet with chicken rice. The roasted chicken drum stick is so tender and flavourful. The roasted pork belly is also very yummy with crispy crackling skin. Chicken feet is cooked in a nice sauce and is tender. The char siew is the only one which didn't wow me. Chicken rice is also too soft. Service is OK.

Excellent roast pork , duck n roast chicken. All the meat we had was moist , succulent n fragrant. The skin on the roast pork n duck were crispy n flavourful. We also like that the rice is tasty n pairs well. The stall staff are very polite n pleasant. This stall gives excellent value for delicious food.

Tried the chicken rice since their shop name is that, and it was a decent meal in general. At $3.50, the portion was okay - 🍚 rice wasn’t all that fragrant 🍗 chicken was tender enough 🌶️ chilli just the right amount of spice though it’s rather liquid. It’s a 3.5 stars if I may ⭐️ Will return to try out the roast meats since they also seem to be famous for that 👍🏻
