The price point is abit high and the one star seems abit overrated. Wasn't too impressed with the Crab Ramen, but surprisingly taking more bites and savouring the food it became a lot more tasty. Food presentation was good, broth was slightly creamy & not too spicy at all. Crab was fried well and not overly oily. The noodles were unique, brown dots apparently are bits of wheat from house made whole grain flour noodles. Choice of warm/cold water was offered awhile after food was ordered.

Hototogisu Ramen famous for their one Michelin star serves up different quality ramen at different price points. The seating was comfortable, since there were not much customers in the restaurant despite the peak hour. Once brought to your table, you can view the physical copy of the menu or the online version by scanning the QR code. Ordering is done online as well. I ordered 2 Ajisen Ramen set, each comes with a drink and a side dish. Each set was $14.90 before GST. The ramen was decently cooked, however the broth was too salty and oily for my liking. There were sufficient beansprouts and spring onion. The egg on the other hand was disappointing. Overcooked on the edges, and not runny in the center, the quality control on the egg has much room for improvement just like how much room the restaurant has during peak dining hours. The pork was thinly sliced and did not bring quality or value add to my experience in any way. On to the side dishes, there were a variety of side dishes to choose from such as California maki, chawanmushi, octopus and even fried tofu. Out of all the sides available, I chose the Crispy gyoza and fishcake. The crispy gyoza and fishcake were decent, typical fried food that is easily accomplished without much skill. However, the presentation has yet again disappointed me. The two pieces of lettuce served as garnish for the fishcake had less life than the leaves on my grandmother’s wiltering plants. I would very much appreciate if there were no lettuce present on the plate if it looked like leftovers from another’s meal. All in all, not an amazing experience. For this price point, you would expect much better standards. Yet, the food was not mind blowingly good, it was at best decent. Unfortunately, I would not patronize them again in the future. Just like how many Michelin stars they have, they receive 1 Google Review star from me.

Ramen looks extremely unappetising and taste exactly the way it looks. Oily soup but strangely no flavour and bland tasting shio ramen. Ramen egg is bland as well. Everything is bland but oily and tastes like hospital foods. Even the katsu is so oily I could only eat half. I usually love well made deep fried foods. Overall, just not delicious and all the low stars reviews are legit after I tried it as I wanted to give them a chance.

had to wait for a bit after we ordered, but food is plated very nicely and well made. broth was surprisingly thick, and the meat was also really good. their ramen noodles are also different, seems like they use buckweed noodles, so that’s very interesting. all in all, good but a bit pricey food, would recommend!

The absolute worst ramen I’ve ever had in my life. What a rip off. The soup taste like nothing. The karage…look at that picture. It’s like refried a few times over. The absolute worst. Don’t waste your money. Horrid is an understatement. To add. Right after this…we went to eat Popeyes. That’s how terrible this place was. Popeyes on the picture as well.
