3 stars Zhang Ji Yun Jiao at Food Republic, Woodleigh Mall, was a rather average experience for me. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable pan fried dumplings for $8.80, plus a takeaway charge, but the waiting time was quite disappointing. I waited around 30 minutes, which felt too long for a simple takeaway order in a food court setting. The dumplings looked quite nicely pan fried, with a golden brown base and some crispy edges. Texture wise, they were decent, with a soft outer layer and light crispiness from the pan frying. However, the overall flavour was only average and not especially memorable. The shrimp and vegetable filling could have been more flavourful. Overall, the food was acceptable, but the long waiting time affected the experience. It is still okay if you are not in a rush, but for a quick food court meal.
View on GoogleCame on a wednesday at 8pm. Ordered a pork wanton soup (10 pieces) and a plate of chive and pork dumplings (10 pieces) from Shan dong dumpling store. Taste is quite aight. The size of wanton is huge and comparable with the size of the dumplings. Waited for close to 10 minutes to collect the food.
View on GoogleGood meal spot, can easily find seats during holiday eve dinner time. Fried oyster omelette is 5 stars, mala/beef noodles/fish soup/dim sum are 4 stars. All not bad. Price is on the expensive side for food court. Anyways everyone living at Woodleigh are default millionaires so price shouldn’t be a problem.
View on GoogleShocking and unprofessional service. I visited the drink stall at Food Republic (The Woodleigh Mall B1) to order a takeaway iced black coffee (Kopi O Kosong Peng). The staff was incredibly rude and kept insisting they "don't have it," which is a basic local drink. The most unacceptable part: I was carrying my toddler at the time. When I asked for the drink to be packed, the staff simply threw a plastic carrier bag at me and demanded that I pack the iced coffee myself while holding my child. Since when is it the customer's job to pack their own drink in a food court? This shows a complete lack of basic service standards and zero empathy for a parent with a young child. This behavior is a disgrace to The Woodleigh Mall. I will be formally lodging a complaint with the management. Such hostile behavior towards a mother and child is absolutely intolerable.
View on GoogleI dabao from the Japanese stall, it was great! The staff were friendly and service was quick. Highly recommend the saba and salmon fish, both were fresh and yummy. The Japanese rice was cooked just nice, and the kimchi was well seasoned, not overly spicy or salty. Overall, close to restaurant quality food (I think not bad if you dine in since Food Republic renovation quite nice). And last but not least, it was great value for money! (Please excuse the half-eaten rice haha)
