Located next to the Orchard Garden, this Ginger Garden is truly an underrated attraction in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The moment we entered, we were immediately attracted by the relaxing water sounds coming from the small man-made waterfall, which makes the whole area feel like a hidden tropical escape. It's actually a lot cooler here because of all the shade from the huge, lush leaves and the mist from the water. There are so many interesting ginger plants and colorful flowers like the bright red Heliconia to look at, and it’s quite surprising to see how many different varieties there actually are. We even saw a small red sunbird feeding on the nectar of a ginger flower, which was a nice surprise. We spent a good amount of time just wandering through the winding paths, checking out the giant lily pads in the pond, and looking at the educational murals that explain the different plant families. The garden is one of our favorite spots for photos because the greenery is so dense and vibrant, especially around the massive banyan trees with their hanging roots. Even though it can get a bit crowded with people waiting for their turn at the waterfall, we didn't mind the wait since there was so much unique flora to admire around us.
View on GoogleThe Ginger Garden in the Singapore Botanic Gardens feels like a hidden tropical oasis. The combination of lush greenery, winding paths, waterfalls, and tranquil ponds filled with giant lily pads creates a very relaxing atmosphere I especially enjoyed the variety of ginger plants and tropical flowers spread throughout the garden. The landscaping is beautifully done, and there are many scenic corners for photography or simply slowing down and appreciating nature. Despite being within the Botanic Gardens, this area feels more secluded and immersive, almost like stepping into a rainforest
View on GoogleNice garden with a man-made waterfall cave and another small pond opposite it. The garden have various variety of ginger plant order on display. Interesting to learn that banana plant, canna lily and heliconia were all part of the ginger order.
View on GoogleThis part of the gardens is less popular but worth visiting if you are a fan of rhizomes. Seeing the ginger blooms and heliconia plants is very pleasing to the eyes. If getting here directly by car, park at the Tyersall Gate carpark for faster access or if you have wheelchair users. Parking charges apply, but entrance to the ginger gardens is free of charge.
