I’m quite disappointed with the inflexibility of the service staff at this café. I placed my bag at the farthest table in the outdoor area, which was completely empty, and I didn’t even sit down. A staff member approached me and asked me to look at the menu. I explained that I was simply waiting for my cab. She then told me that I could not wait there, so I had no choice but to walk away. I understand that establishments have their own policies, but there should also be some common sense and basic courtesy in how these situations are handled. I was not occupying a table or inconveniencing any customers. Unfortunately, the way I was approached left me feeling that I was being treated differently. One cannot help but wonder whether the same treatment would have been given if I were an Ang Moh. For a café in the Cluny Road area, this kind of attitude gives the impression that the place is only welcoming to a certain privileged or elitist crowd. Customer service should be about being respectful and accommodating, not making people feel unwelcome because they do not fit a particular profile.

Absolutely terrible service. Staff was unfriendly. No payment by card. It took 45 minutes to receive two sandwiches. In the end, we had to ask for the food to go. No one said sorry. No apologies whatsoever. Very bad experience throughout.

Good coffee! The pain au chocolat also is good. Our go to place for coffee and croissants after a run/walk in the mornings!

🟨 Brill cafe 🟣 501, Bukit Timah Road, #01-01C Cluny Court, Singapore 259760 ⬛️ I have visited Brill Cafe many times over the years, and it continues to charm me every single time. 🟧 This quaint little spot is located on the ground floor of Cluny Court, right across from the Cluny Road entrance to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. 🟦 Although the cafe is very tiny, it has a certain charm that makes it feel welcoming and intimate. 🟢 There are only a few outdoor alfresco tables and seats, but they’re perfect for people-watching or enjoying the lush greenery nearby. ● The setup is simple, clean, and fuss-free ➡️ great for a relaxing afternoon tea break. 🟠 I had the takeaway ( dapao) of Chicken Mayonnaise Freshly Made Sandwiches (SGD12.10 for two pieces), and they were delicious and satisfying ---- made fresh, with just the right balance of flavour and texture. 🟨 What truly made my visit special today was the very warm & cheerful service by Kyla, a staff member from Myanmar. ▪︎She was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive — a genuine delight to talk to. 😊 With such wonderful service, I’ll definitely keep coming back. 🟦 I do recommend Brill Cafe if you're in the area, especially for a light bite before or after a stroll in the gardens. 🌳🌳I like this cafe spot alot, because it's very quiet and tranquil.

Lovely little hole in the wall cafe with a kind lady who let me sit down first n pay later when she saw me w my pup. Coffee is amazing and their sticky buns are to die for :)
