I’ve been dining at Chang BBQ for over a decade, and it has consistently been one of my go-to places for great food and quality beef. Unfortunately, this year I’ve had two disappointing experiences with the beef. On both occasions, it was served rather dry and flat, lacking the usual juicy and tender texture that I’ve always enjoyed here. What disappointed me more during my recent visit 6th September was the service recovery. After I highlighted the issue to the waiter, the same plate was taken back, reheated and served to me again. I had already mentioned that I was perfectly happy to pay for a fresh replacement, so I felt this could have been handled more professionally. In the end, the plate was left largely untouched, which was also a waste of good-quality beef. I’m sharing this because I’ve supported Chang BBQ for many years and genuinely hope the consistency in both food quality and service can return to the standard I’ve known for over a decade. I still wish the team well and hope this was simply an exception rather than the new norm.

Had a wonderful lunch at Chang Korean Charcoal BBQ at Dempsey Hill. The meats were fresh, tender, and of excellent quality. The banchan selection was also very generous and delicious. What made the experience especially memorable was the outstanding service from Lyn. She was polite, friendly, and very pleasant throughout the meal. She patiently helped us grill the meats to perfection and paid great attention to detail. When she overheard that my wife particularly liked one of the vegetable wraps, she thoughtfully refilled it without us even asking. Truly warm and attentive service that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Always love eating here. Peaceful and private space. They grill the BBQ meats away from you so no worries about hair and clothes smelling. We always have their affordable lunch sets from 45/55++ It's a lot of food but most importantly is the quality.

We had a wonderful lunch experience at Chang Korean BBQ and left very impressed by both the food quality and service. We ordered the Prime Rib Eye (Aus. 200g), marinated chicken, seafood kimchi pancake (customised to all prawns), ginseng chicken soup, steamed rice, Coke Zeros and a makguli. Every dish was well executed — the beef was flavourful and tender, the marinated chicken was juicy, and the kimchi pancake with prawns was satisfying with a nice balance of crispness and flavour. The ginseng chicken soup was comforting and hearty. What truly stood out was the service. The waitress wearing spectacles was extremely patient, polite, and genuinely cheerful throughout. She cooked both the beef and chicken for us over charcoal and thoughtfully removed the charcoal once everything was done so we wouldn’t feel the heat — a very considerate touch that made the experience even more comfortable. The total bill came to about $245 including GST for the both of us, and honestly it felt well worth it given the quality of food and attentive service. Parking was also incredibly convenient, literally right at the doorstep, which made the visit very hassle-free. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and we would happily return.

The location is quiet and serene, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The service was excellent, with staff who were energetic, attentive, and very helpful. The Tiger draft beer was fresh and well chilled. They also serve cold crab as part of their banchan, which was a delightful surprise.
