Had a company dinner at Blu Kouzina Dempsey and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, especially the grilled meats and dips. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The atmosphere at Dempsey is very nice and relaxing, perfect for group gatherings or company dinners. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Would definitely come back again!
View on GoogleI have wanted to try this Greek restaurant at Dempsey road for the longest time as it was one of (if not) the earliest Greek restaurant in Singapore. Sadly, it did not really hit the mark. The pita bread started at room temperature but went cold and tough fast. The good thing is pita with their signature hummus did not go wrong. The grilled octopus (Xtapodi Shara) body was nice and chewy, but the tail end was charred and pretty flavorless. The beef moussaka gave off major lasagna vibes with its layers of potato and minced beef, and the kotopoulo forno featured free-range chicken baked along side roasted potato that was on the tougher side, even with the sauce. Overall, it was a bit letdown with more misses than hits—though maybe I just ordered the wrong things.
View on GoogleTHE FOOD IS SO EXPENSIVE. Tell me why such a small portion of food (attached below) costs so much. The food is also extremely mediocre. The octopus tasted bland and not fresh. The lamb was dry and had a fishy smell to it while it costed LITERALLY 52 dollars. I could get any food anywhere else with a better taste and cost less. The service was ok but I have no idea why this restaurant is recommended. Please if you have the time and money, go somewhere else with better, cheaper food.
View on GoogleI visited Blu Kouzina Dempsey for a company dinner, and it ended up being a really enjoyable evening. The grilled meats and dips stood out for me, and the whole meal felt fresh with a nice Greek touch. There was a relaxed atmosphere that made the dinner easy to enjoy, and I’d gladly go back for another meal.
View on GoogleFirst, the staff. Impeccable. Truly lovely people. Warm, attentive, and wonderfully accommodating, they looked after us with such genuine enthusiasm that we briefly considered awarding the restaurant five stars based on hospitality alone. If charm were edible, we would have left completely satisfied. The food, not terrible, not offensive, but certainly not the heroic Mediterranean triumph one might expect given the rather formidable bill that awaited us at the end. The seafood platter, while promising in theory, appeared to have endured a slightly overzealous relationship with heat. The fish arrived rather dry, and the shrimp clung on it’s shell with dear life, though in places surrendering into a puzzling mushiness that gave the faint impression of having recently completed a long residency in the freezer. The lamb shanks were perfectly adequate, though they possessed the culinary charisma of a polite handshake. And yet, redemption appeared in the form of the dips. We ordered four, and every single one was delightful. Paired with warm pita bread that arrived soft and generously portioned, this humble lineup became the undisputed star of the table. The baklava diverged somewhat from the versions we’ve encountered elsewhere but remained pleasant enough. The kunafa arrived perfuming the table with glorious buttery aromas, only to deliver a surprisingly restrained flavour profile, the cheese light, delicate, and perhaps just a touch shy of making a proper statement. Our final bill, which admittedly reflects the enthusiastic ordering habits of 2 people who perhaps momentarily forgot they were only 2 people, landed somewhere around the $400 mark. While the food was decent, we don’t believe it quite justified such a robust price tag. Still, the staff were so lovely that the birthday lunch remained an enjoyable affair regardless.
