Escaped to Yara for a relaxed afternoon, some good food and to try their newly relaunched local menu. The refreshed menu brings together familiar local flavours with a few interesting touches. Overall, everything felt comforting and easy-going — just the kind of food you can sit back and enjoy. Many ingredients are made from scratch and on house and I do like that. To Start • Kaya & Salted Butter Toast — charcoal-grilled, crisp and buttery. Very pretty and well put together! • Five Spice Chicken Wings — crispy and fragrant with chilli padi & curry leaves Mains • Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah — coconut basmati rice with the classic accompaniments and spiced fried chicken • Claypot Braised Tiger Prawn Hokkien Mee — rich prawn-infused broth with tiger prawns, squid, lard & chives and pork lard. • Tiger Prawn Mee Siam — savoury, tangy and full of familiar local flavours Dessert • Kueh Bingka Ubi — a comforting traditional finish to the meal I think can be improved. What I really enjoyed beside the local flavors of the menu is the greenery around and the really chill vibes. Sets me in a very relaxed and refreshed mood before returning to work after lunch. The service was very friendly and service with smiles which is much appreciated! Serious and fast service too! It’s also a very nice place for kaya toast and coffee at tea time or a brunch!
View on GoogleCame here for dinner on a Tuesday evening with my bestie and we were immediately warmly welcomed in by the waitresses and one of the owners, Ryan ! Ryan was really friendly and engaging, had a casual chat with him and he briefly ran us through the menu so we know what to order for the night This restaurant specialises in curating healthy fusion dishes from scratch while making sure the food tastes scrumptious. We were honestly spoilt for choice as everything sounded delicious. We ended up getting the Roasted Vadouvan Curried Cauliflower and the chilli Okra for starters. The curried cauliflower was one of our favourite dishes of the night, the curry taste on the cauliflower was prominent and it paired really well with the greek yoghurt and the sweetness from the pomegranate. The Okra was yummy and the chilli that came with it was really flavourful. For mains, we got the Wagyu Ribeye and we requested for it to be prepared medium rare. The ribeye came out perfect and nicely charred on the edges. The meat was extra juicy and paired really well with their tasty chimichurri ! We had to end the night with a couple of sweet treats so we ordered the ‘Kueh Talam’ Pudding and the Cold Tofu Cheesecake. These were one of the best vegan and vegetarian desserts we’ve ever had. The warm kueh pudding tasted heavenly with every bite, especially with the coconut cloud whip topping. The tofu cheesecake was perfect, it tasted exactly like a cheesecake and it wasn’t too sweet as well. Love that they plated the cheesecake with a passion fruit coulis so that we can control the sweet and sourness of every bite we had. With the top notch service from Ryan and the waitress, Sharmie (hope we got your name right !) as well as the delicious food the chefs had prepared for us, our dinner experience was incredibly lovely and we would definitely come back again in the future🫶🍴 !
View on GoogleYara has a very elegant but cosy ambience that was very comforting to be in. Additionally, Ryan and the servers were very welcoming and helpful which immediately put us at ease. We tried the curried cauliflower, chili prawn okra, ribeye steak with chimichurri, pandan pudding and tofu cheesecake. The dishes had a unique spin on the asian ingredients we love and was delicious. It may sound like a heavy meal, but the dishes were surprisingly light and well balanced but left us full and satisfied at the end. Our favourites were the cauliflower and cheesecake and we would strongly recommend them. Thank you to Yara for the amazing dining experience!
View on Googleamazing experience with the cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff! started with the burrata, at one glance, one may have thoughts on how the flavours will gel but it was REALLY GOOD (esp with the shallots) - very light and refreshing sides we had the grilled okra, very warm n crunchy! mains included the grilled black tiger prawns - super charred and the sauce rly rly compliments! we also had the ribeye, super soft and it melts in your mouth, it also comes with the chimichurri sauce - love the spices in it we also had the mocktails - first light and blushing peach! very refreshing! lastly we had the kueh talam pudding. it was salty on the top, between at the bottom, but when eaten together, it compliments really well! additionally its also warm so its comforting! great way to end the meal! will defo come back again!
View on GoogleLocal food in an exquisite environment. Steve from Vietnam (excellent language and interpersonal skills) served us with aplomb. Food was delicious, we ordered the Muar Otah sando which was delicious, and the salted butter kaya toast was equally well done. For a place like this, prices seemed reasonable (see menu pictures). Thoroughly enjoyed my chill time here, will be back!
