Found this little gem near home after my workout and ordered a curry chicken set. Food was surprisingly good, at least a notch above standard F&B restaurants like Papa Rich. The rice was fragrant, the curry had a homely aroma, and the chicken portion was generous. I topped it all off with a milky cup of bubble tea.
View on GoogleI recently dined at a Nyonya restaurant located at the void deck of Dawson HDB, and I was pleasantly surprised! Despite its location (at void deck), the renovation and air conditioning are quite decent, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, especially for their laksa and noodles, which are delicious! The service is also impressive, and we absolutely loved their rendang beef. It's a shame they don’t offer lamb, though!I've been back a few times and even ordered delivery—it's that good! If you’re a cyclist heading towards Robertson Quay, this place is a perfect pitstop. They have great local coffee and a breakfast set that is definitely worth trying.Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy some local delights!
View on GoogleMy first visit to the hidden place in a lovely HDB estate. Tried the Babi Ponteh and Curry Chicken with local coffee. The rice was fragrant and both the pork and chiken were on point, especially the curry was with aromatic flavour. Unfortunately, the pork used were too fat (almost more than 50% fat) and sliced into very thin slices. I can't really taste of feel the texture of the meat when eating. I guess fatter part of the meat were used to manage the cost of the meat. I probably ended up leave about 30% of the meat untouched as it was too fat. Another disappointment was that the coffee has to be self served and collected from another corner counter which we didn't realised. When the food was served and we eating almost half-way, we were wondering why the coffee was not served until we asked the staff. We were then told that the coffee was left at the counter "unattended". When we went to collect the coffee, it was already cold! I guess this could be better handled when the staff served the food, can tell us to "self collect" the coffee from the counter? This is not good customer experience.
View on GoogleOur maiden venture to Dawson estate for Xmas lunch found us this very ulu cafe hidden in SkyParc at Dawson. Que Sera Sera (whatever will be, will be) such a meaningful phrase. They take it as an inspiration for their cafe name 'Sera Sera Nonya 随遇而安'. This cosy cafe serves value for money western food, peranakan set meal dishes, toast set & tea delights. We had beef rendang set at $13, babi ponteh set at $9.90 & 2 cups of very thick earl grey tea at $2.80. Babi ponteh is well stewed, soft & I like the ‘see yiu’ sauce so much, great to go with blue pea rice. Beef rendang specially served in a mini wok. Piping hot, soft & full of flavours. Both sets come with nice side dishes chap chye, achar & keropok. Good find at HDB void deck!! 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 We will be back!!
View on GoogleSera Sera Nonya was just a short walking distance for us, making it a convenient choice for an early dinner on September 23. We ordered Sambal Sotong with Rice and Assam Prawn with Rice, along with two blue pea drinks. Both dishes were served piping hot, and the Assam sauce, in particular, had just the right level of spiciness for my taste. I also appreciated that the menu clearly marked spice levels with one or two chilli icons, which made selecting dishes easier. The food, service, and environment were all commendable. While the blue pea drinks were a little diluted, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Even though the restaurant uses a self-service system—ordering at the counter, collecting food when your number is called, and returning trays—the friendly helper kindly brought our food to the table, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, we truly enjoyed our meal here and a pleasant, convenient dining experience.
