Boon Tong Kee, one of the oldest brand in Singapore for Chicken Rice. They don’t have roast chicken when I was there cos it was sold out. So I had steamed one instead which is just as good. The chicken is tender and flavourful. Sweet and sour sea bass is another to consider ordering if you like something tangy. The fish is probably around 7-800g which is a good size with generous portion of sauce. Goes so well with the automatic chicken rice. The tofu puff is decent but nothing to wow about honestly. For local or tourist, it’s an idea place to try local cuisine.
View on GoogleCame here and ordered the signature boiled chicken (half chicken for $22 as of Aug 2026) – pretty solid. Also had the coffee pork rib, which was alright but the sauce was a bit too watery and sweet for my liking. The crispy beancurd was the surprise nice, silky smooth inside and nice crunch outside. One thing I noticed was that they didn't serve soup with the chicken rice, unlike the usual stalls. Not sure if it's their standard or I just didn't ask. Food was decent overall, nothing to shout about but no complaints either. Service was very good, staff were super on the ball and really attentive.
View on GoogleChicken rice : 6/10 rating Chicken meat : 5/10 rating Chee Cheong Fun : 7/10 rating Chicken liver : 2/10 rating This Boon Tong Kee Is at River Valley branch. This is a popular chicken rice chain in Singapore. I find this stall the chicken rice okay, unfortunately chicken meat not as juicy and fresh comparing to the main Balestier stall. Also the chicken liver is very hard and tasteless. But I like the Chee Cheong Fun. If want to eat Boon Tong Kee chicken rice, I will suggest you guys to go the main Balestier stall.
View on GoogleIt is quite distance from town.We took taxi there. The food is great we has a plate of chiken for 2 people and 3 bowls of rice, one Fried veggie and 2 drinks and it costs us approx $50. The food tasted the best, yummy. The services are great, very attentive ( lot of old aunty) i felt eat at home ;)
View on GoogleGoogle business operational timings not updated which still reflects closures of their outlets at 2.30am but in reality closing time 9.30pm. arrived at 8.30pm for a late business dinner and staffs were so eager to close the store. Dishes were alright but the main product of Chicken was on the drier side and tough on texture. Not the Boon Tong Kee standards I grew up with. Not worth the visit.
