Dinner at Tambuah Mas felt both nostalgic and comforting. I came especially for the tahu telor — something I hadn’t had in a long while. It was pretty satisfying, though I do feel it tasted even better decades ago. Having visited since their Tanglin Shopping Centre days, it’s heartening to see how they’ve grown and recently earned a Michelin star. We also had the beef and lontong besides the tahu telor. I liked that we could choose the spiciness level of the beef, which suited me since I don’t take very spicy food. The lontong, served with tender chicken and rich gravy, was especially yummy and comforting. Food overall was good, though the yellow rice was a little bland. I appreciated that the chendol wasn’t overly sweet. Definitely a refreshing way to end a satisfying meal. Service was efficient, and we were glad to get a table easily on a weekday without reserving. Prices felt reasonable too. We were very full, and with a forgotten membership discount of about $6++, the total came to around $61 including a fresh coconut. A place we’ll happily return to again 😋
View on GoogleThe dish was very nice and full of flavour, although it was a little oily. The texture was rich and satisfying, and the portion felt generous. The other dishes were also good, making the overall meal enjoyable. I would come back again, but probably not too often, as the food is quite heavy.
View on GoogleCame here to tapao their Kari Ayam & Asinan. The Kari Ayam was rich & flavourful, with tender chicken in an aromatic coconut curry that wasn’t overly spicy. The Asinan provided a refreshing contrast with its crisp pickled vegetables & sweet, tangy dressing, making it a great accompaniment to the curry. A nice takeaway meal from one of Singapore’s long-established Indonesian restaurants.
View on GoogleAnother great family gathering at Tambuah Mas at Great World City. Their beef rendang is flavourful, tender and not very spicy, and tahu telor is really good. 😋 Do make reservation as it is not easy to get a seat for walk-in. View on GoogleThe Emping was a nice starter, crispy and bitter. The Rendang Lembu was tender, although the portion was on the smaller side and it was quite oily. The Nasi Goreng Istimewa was the highlight, with the slightly spicy rice pairing well with the satay and prawns. The Sayur Lodeh was pretty good too, a nice creamy vegetable dish. The staff were really friendly and service was prompt, overall a good place for a meal!
