i'm sure the staff work very hard, but this was not a pleasant meal for my party when we dined. the majority of the dishes we ordered were underwhelming and bafflingly overpriced. we had a number of dishes, all of which were served in shockingly small portions for the price and taste. the only saving grace was the eggplant, which had little to no local flavours (there was feta cheese on it...?), while the other dishes ranged from mediocre to plain bad. singgang serani is a flavourful, comforting fish curry/soup, but here they've charged $24 for two egg tart-sized pieces of wafer with what tasted like tuna mayo and called it "singgang serani". for some reason, they also served the wafers on a bed of raw red beans, which is a wild choice given that the moisture of the fish caused the wafers to warp and wrap around the red beans below, so when you picked up a tart you ran the risk of breaking your teeth on a raw red bean surprise. the sotong masak hitam was stuffed with a whole fish, with the scales and bones still inside; this crucial detail was inexplicably not mentioned in the menu description, and the plating of this dish was quite off-putting besides. a table by us left shortly after my party was seated, and the table remained uncleared for the majority of our meal. the waiter also tried to upsell us the singgang serani so our whole party could try this dish, which would have cost us $72 to eat tuna mayo on a soggy wafer with raw red beans embedded into the base. i understand this is the waiter's job, but given that the dish he was trying to push us to spend more money on was......that, it left a bad taste in the mouth. don't waste your time and money here. highly recommend anyone who wants to try innovative twists on local food to try gilmore and damian d'silva instead, or better yet visit a hawker centre.

★★★★☆ Po Restaurant delivers a solid dining experience, and their lobster Hokkien noodle is definitely the highlight. The noodles are rich and fragrant, coated in a deep, well-balanced prawn broth that’s packed with wok hei. The lobster is fresh and generously portioned, adding a luxurious touch without overpowering the dish. While the flavours are satisfying and comforting, there’s still a little room for refinement to make it truly outstanding. That said, it’s an enjoyable and indulgent take on a local favourite, and one I’d happily return for. A great option if you’re craving elevated comfort food done right.

Po is nested within The Warehouse Hotel, very classy joint serving Perankan cuisine. We were there for a business lunch meeting and could conduct our discussion very comfortably. Service staff - Conrad and Shin Lin were very friendly and attentive, gave good recommendations on what to order. Ikan Kerbau was a delicious and light tangy herbal salad served with raw hamachi. Otah Blangah was fabulous - minced wolf herring in declious rempah with toufu and fish cake. Highly recommended to have the rempah with some rice. Rendang (slow beaised beef) was simply delicious although we found a tad too salty. My first time trying the ice cream popiah also. We will head back again to sample the other dishes

🟨 Po Restaurant Warehouse Hotel 🟦Location = This local restaurant is nestled inside The Warehouse Hotel at Havelock Road. ( ➖️ The Warehouse hotel is actually a restored boutique hotel) 🟢 Decor ************** 🟢 The interior decor is a hip, minimalist, and elegant blend of modern and traditional Singaporean design, featuring curved rattan chairs, marble-topped tables, and a warm & dim ambient lighting. 🟨 Food = 🟨 My hubby and I ordered the signature DIY Popiah Platter, which is a refined take on the traditional dish featuring stewed turnip ( bang-kwang), bamboo shoots, and a variety of toppings. ⬛️ The classic set starts from $32+ and serves about 1 to 2 persons and includes four wheat skins and various condiments. 🟨 We didn't order anything else as we were here just for a quick meal. 🟪 Service = The staff were polite, attentive and pleasant.

I booked Pó (婆)restaurant for my mom’s birthday dinner celebration. Unbeknownst to many, this restaurant is located inside The Warehouse Hotel. Now I know what you’re thinking, “hotel food at restaurants aren’t great”, but this couldn’t be farther from the statement. It’s a great place to bring friends from overseas who want a starter palate of Peranakan food. The food we had was enjoyable and enough for a family of 3, we had: -Hamachi Kerabu (it’s like a Peranakan yu sheng or raw fish salad which was a perfect starter to kick us off the night) -Lamb lemak chilli api (the most softest and tender lamb) -XO sauce seafood pot (it’s xo sauce, need I say more?) -beef rendang (tender and cooked with the right amount of spices) -nasi telang (blue pea rice) -pucuk lemak (tiger prawns on a vegetable bed of curry) -kueh tingkat (three tiered tin of desserts) -yuzu Cheng t’ng (a nice wash on the throat to end the meal) -warm banana cake (to wrap the entire meal and call it a night) We were also given an ice-cream popiah which was unique but such a delightful treat! From what I remember dining here twice, their menu does change from time to time as well. The staff at the restaurant were kind, friendly and treated us warmly. Thank you to everyone :) We’ll definitely visit again!
