Sigh....I completely forgotten when was the first time I went to this place, quite a number of years now. If I can remember correctly when I first came here to dine in, their english communication wasn't good and the menu as well because it's mostly japanese language. But now both communication and the menu have become much more better. So let’s talk about my experiences dining here after all these years, when I stepped in the restaurant I wasn’t given a proper welcome, probably the restaurant was busy at that time but still not a good impression frankly. The restaurant looks good & the service was great even though one of the waitress who served welcoming appetizers forgot how to explain one of the appetizers and should've knew it, it's still fine. Their food was great no doubt about it especially the Potato Mentai Cheese Yaki, that's really my favorite dish. So overall my dining experience in this restaurant still maintain it's reputation definitely but still can be improved if any of the staff or even the owner look into customers feedbacks or not. The first feedback is hopefully the owner train their staffs to be more welcoming to the customers because one of the waitress looks so down with no positive vibes like having a bad day or something. And the second feedback is that how can it be a Japanese restaurant without the chef cook for you wagyu beef? Yes they do serve wagyu beef but it's only DIY, why? Is the chef lazy to cook or they just don't know how to cook wagyu beef perfectly? That question still remains unanswered. So that's all for my review, not perfect but it can be perfect if they are willing to listen to customer's feedback.
View on GoogleTruly a hidden gem! I had one of the best okonomiyaki experiences in Singapore i honestly felt like transported to Japan🥹✨ Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The soft bone fried chicken, okonomiyaki, and saikoro steak are all must orders🤤I also tried monjayaki for the first time!! The service was exceptional as well. Every staff member was warm and friendly, and a special thank you to Riko, who made our dining experience even more enjoyable with her attentive and welcoming service💕😋 I’ll definitely be coming back!! highly recommend!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
View on GoogleThis restaurant stands out as arguably the only place in Singapore where you can enjoy truly delicious, authentic monjayaki. It offers a great opportunity to experience this unique Japanese savory pancake flavor without leaving the country. In addition to their standout monjayaki, the establishment serves a wide and impressive variety of traditional Japanese izakaya dishes, all prepared well and flavorful. The dining environment is highly commendable, maintaining a very clean, neat, and hygienic space that makes for a comfortable meal. The staff members are consistently kind, polite, and attentive to customer needs, enhancing the overall dining experience with their welcoming service. Between the quality of the food, the excellent hospitality, and the spotless interior, this venue is highly recommended for anyone craving a genuine Japanese pub experience or searching for proper monjayaki in Singapore.
View on Googlecame here yesterday to celebrate my friend (who’s visiting from Japan)’s birthday, upon another good friend’s recommendation. we were sorely disappointed, to say the least. for starters, we were rudely greeted by an uncle staff who used words like, “yes, what do you want?” when we were standing at the entrance of the restaurant. we had a reservation, and he seated a japanese family that came after us through the back of the restaurant. when we respectfully asked if we could be seated indoors, he grew irritable and said, “huh? i don’t how long to wait for a table inside. you just sit here (outdoors) first, when we have a table available (indoors) we will transfer you.” the staff stationed outside kept talking among themselves and we had to wait and raise our hands multiple times to get their attention. we ordered 2 refillable drinks, but 3 drinks arrived instead. our two okonomiyaki orders took more than 45min to arrive, and they were not hot nor crispy. prior to this, we asked a few staff for updates on our order, and the same thing happened: the staff went away and did not come back with an update. the final straw was when i asked two staff to speak to the manager, and they both said “okay” but did not come back with the manager, nor did they give me a response. that’s when i decided to walk into the restaurant and find the manager to speak to her on the horrible service and food. the manager tried to resolve things by giving us staff discount and complimentary desserts, but honestly, we will not be back again. we were also told by another staff that the bosses/higher ups were away for a few days. and to that, i would like to say to the management: just because you (bosses) were away, it’s okay for your staff to be complacent and give bad service and food to paying customers? or is it because we were seated outside, and we do not deserve the same quality of service and food as those patrons seated inside the restaurant?
View on GoogleHighly recommend trying the fried river prawn, it’s such a great snack - savoury and crispy. Also highly recommend the dried fish that was nicely grilled. Would not recommend the pizza though, was just cheese atop a thin bread. Okonomiyaki was very average. The monjayaki is unique, nothing that I’ve seen in SG. Service staff were attentive and pleasant.
