Be prepared to wait in line as it gets really crowded, but trust me, the quality of the food makes it 100% worth it. The Bak Kut Teh here has a very unique and light tasting broth—plus, they offer unlimited soup refills! I also had the pork intestines, which were cooked perfectly, not greasy, and the portion size was just right for a solo diner. A special shoutout to the staff who were extremely friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely return!
View on GoogleSong Fa Bak Kut Teh stands as a celebrated Singapore culinary institution, and dining at the original flagship branch confirms that its iconic reputation is thoroughly deserved. Quite simply the finest pork soup encountered outside of Korea, it delivers an authentic masterclass in slow-cooked broth that makes every single minute spent in the inevitable peak-hour queue entirely justifiable. The signature Bak Kut Teh is deeply layered, aromatic, and packed with robust savory warmth, anchored by a clear, peppery broth with an umami depth that lingers long after the meal. The pork ribs are cooked to textbook perfection—exceptionally tender to the point of effortlessly slipping off the bone while retaining their succulent richness. The restaurant maintains a straightforward, efficient, and unpretentious environment that dispenses with unnecessary frills and allows the exceptional quality of the kitchen to speak entirely for itself. The original branch carries an authentic heritage and operational consistency that is immediately evident from the very first sip. For travelers in Singapore with an appreciation for comforting, world-class pork soup traditions, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is an indispensable culinary stop. Arriving early to get ahead of the line is recommended, but the reward is well worth the wait. Highly recommended without reservation.
View on GoogleSmall flagship shop without aircon! However it always have super super super long queue so decided to try since I was in the area. The queue moves quite fast and I was there on a rainy evening, so it was less crowded. Have to say the standards are consistent and really don’t have to go the flagship to eat. Can just go any of the shops! They will be cooler and shorter q. But if wan the shophouse vibe, just come during off peak hours, shd be fine! My go to always the premium ribs, youtiao, one veg. My friend loves the pork trotter because it’s deboned! First time I had it and woah, not bad
View on GoogleYou really can't go wrong with Song Fa for a classic Bak Kut Teh fix! The soup is super peppery and flavorful—best part is they keep refilling it for you. The pork ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. It's usually crowded, but the service is quick and the vibe is great for a casual family meal. Definitely a local favorite for a reason!
View on GoogleWhen you come to Singapore, you have to visit this restaurant. This is a Michelin-awarded restaurant, a decision made over several years. I came here because I was captivated by the flavor of the broth and the spicy kick of the pepper. I highly recommend this restaurant. At certain times, you might have to wait in line, and sometimes the line can be quite long.
