Grilled cheese with tomato soup is still the best here, so good every time. The rösti was delicious too, and the poached egg with avocado made it feel a bit more balanced. Coffee-wise, you can probably give it a miss. The iced mocha is decent, but the flat white had too much milk for my taste. Overall though, I love this place and will definitely be back again.
View on GoogleWe decided to visit PUNCH for breakfast after seeing it featured in a Time Out article. The scrambled eggs on toast were acceptable; while the eggs themselves were rather bland, the excellent sourdough bread largely saved the dish. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Earl Grey Pancakes didn't quite live up to the expectations, as we couldn't detect any hint of Earl Grey flavor. On a brighter note, the Weekender Eggs offered a well-balanced flavor profile thanks to the combination of smoked salmon and green apple slices, though the dish would be further improved if served with a side salad. The standout of the meal was definitely the iced wicked (mint mocha) —the mint was beautifully infused with the mocha, and the sweetness was perfectly balanced. The service here was prompt and friendly, and the ambience strikes a nice balance with its industrial chic interior and a lovely small alfresco seating area. While the food on this visit left a bit of room for improvement, the overall experience was positive enough that we will definitely be returning to try their lunch menu.
View on GoogleAlways good food! It had been a while since I last visited — I think about two years ago — but it's still just as steady and reliable. It's a great brunch spot for a girls' catch-up. The three of us ordered brunch plates and some pasta, and it was all really nice. We ended up chatting for about three hours, and the staff were lovely throughout. Loved the coffee too. If you're in the area, definitely recommend!
View on GoogleWent to Punch Cafe in North Canal Road and the flavors hit. Ordered the Earl Grey pancakes and the punching gloves, and I actually liked the gloves more. They’re savory, fun, and really good. The pancakes are still solid. Fragrant, soft, not too sweet. I’d just get both and share. Sweet and savory together works really well here. Coffee was decent, nothing too complex but it complements the food. Overall, cool concept, great location.
View on GoogleGreat cafe, with nice vibes and good coffee. Amazing and friendly staff and service! They have a interesting menu which appears semi Australian inspired. The dishes are very nice and the Deans Breakfast is a great choice (pair it with a good Rosti and you're gold)
