IG: @melvineateat 8.5/10 $11.90/$14.90 for the Supreme Mix and $9.90/$11.90 for just beef noodles Hock Lam’s Supreme Mix Dry is my go-to. You get perfectly cooked beef slices, super tender tendon and stomach, plus meatballs, all coated in a rich, savoury, beefy gravy. I always pick kway teow because it doesn’t soak up the sauce as much, which means more of that glorious gravy left to sip. The herbal soup on the side is sweet, light, and really refreshing. My favourite way to eat it: dump in 2 spoons of their spicy tangy chilli, squeeze over some lime, and add a bit of cincalok. It lifts the whole bowl and adds another layer of complexity.

Came early when they just opened. Had ample seats at the time. Tried the dry noodles and had a flash back to the past. This was the original gooey beef noodles that is still flavourful and filling, with little bits of salted mustard greens to balance the heavy spices gravy. It’s accompanied by a small bowl of beef broth. Delicious!!

Enjoyable beef noodle with history that goes way back in the past. Broth is more on the sweet side, and price is high due to the prime location. Service is friendly and food served super fast. I tried it as it went viral, but I personally prefer Blanco Court one.

Signature beef noodles set at $15.90. Was recommended the soup version. Would like to come back and try the dry type.

Rich beef broth, melt-in-your-mouth beef Ordered their No. 1 sliced beef with thick noodles, went for the soup option. If you order dry option, nice thing is they still give you soup on the side, so you get the best of both worlds. The herbal soup base is really tasty—you can tell why this place has been around for so long as a 老招牌 (old establishment). The thick bee hoon goes well with their chilli, and everything just comes together nicely with the bean sprouts, spring onion, and yellow salted vegetables. Simple but balanced. Beef slices were tender and the portions are decent. It’s one of those places that does the basics really well without any fuss. If you’re craving a comforting bowl of beef noodles with that traditional herbal soup flavor, this is worth checking out. Solid choice!
