This was my second, or maybe even third, visit to DAWN, and I will definitely be coming back. It is a small place, but that is part of its charm. If you can, come early and try to get a seat at the counter, as that is one of the coolest parts of the experience. It is a great spot to sit for 20 minutes or so, slow down, and enjoy a proper coffee break. The space has a very cool minimalist vibe that feels calm, understated and intentional. It is also the kind of place you could easily walk straight past, as it is not especially well signed, but oddly that hidden feel is part of what makes it so appealing. It feels a bit like a place you are happy to have found. The service was very good. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and happy to engage with customers, which always adds to the experience. The coffee was above average and I would rate it about 4.5 out of 5. Definitely strong enough to make me want to return. There is a small range of food available, but do not expect an extensive menu. This feels much more like a coffee-focused stop than somewhere you would go for a full meal. One thing to note is that there are steps to get up, so it is not wheelchair friendly, and it is probably not the most practical place to bring kids. Overall, a very cool little spot with great coffee, good people and a distinctive vibe. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleCoffee without a doubt is delicious. Service even better. We dropped by for coffee and as there were no available table for us three, they asked a lone customer if they can move to the counter to make way for us. We were okay to sit by the wall initially. Today again I ordered 2 takeaway without a tray and they kindly open the door for me to exit. Great coffee + great service they certainly deserve a great review! By the way the strawberry cake looks amazing, too bad we just had breakfast and are leaving Singapore.
View on Google@eats.withshan Finally visited for the aesthetic vibes before their holiday closure. Chestnut Chocolate Tart ($10) - festive special; rich and a little sweet for me. But tart was great - buttery and nice texture White (Single Shot) ($6) - solid cup. Perfect for solo cafe but do note that they always crowded - so might not get any seat.
View on GoogleCoffee: Coffee was flavourful, not muddy, tasted similar to those chocolate-coated pomegranate confections. Food: Tried their plum jam cake and rhubarb raspberry tart. Price is on the high-end but the bakes have a homey feel as they aren't laden with sugar and taste very natural (to the fruit) with moderate tartness. Plum jam cake was soft and moist and the tart pastry was crisp and buttery. Service: Service was great. To all the individuals saying the service is bad, please do not paint this café in a negative light because of your self-entitlement. Overly joyous hospitality cannot be expected in a cafe that is quaint and literally 2 metres across. Can you imagine how loud and annoying it would be if anyone were to repeat questions or prompt each incoming person to order? The space isn't large enough to drown out the sounds of various conversations. And with limited seating, obviously everyone must order something and not just hog the entire space which large groups have a tendency to do. This is a quiet and cosy café, so if you want somewhere to unwind and relax with good coffee and pastry, this is the place for you! If you want "louder service", go elsewhere...
View on GoogleI came here before a very important meeting and this place really calmed me down with its dim lights, faint glow and delicious offerings. I had the hojicha cold brew and pistachio brownie. The former was light and fragrant (an expected flavour), and the dessert was rich and not too sweet. I usually expect the pistachio element to be too cloying, over here it’s not, and the dark chocolate base balances things out.
