A Michelin Star Moment Hiding in a Fruit Juice Shop If a Michelin inspector walked in here on a slow Tuesday, this curry alone could stop them in their tracks. I almost didn't order it. Tracy's should get its Michelin star...I dare to predict. I have not been surprised by food for a long while and Tracy's has. "Fruit Juice Curry" on a menu board at a place I'd always known for its fresh juices and a genuinely excellent creamy mushroom vegetarian option? My instinct was to play it safe and stick with what I knew. I'm so glad I didn't. What arrived was nothing short of audacious, a fragrant curry broth laced with sweet black grapes, dragon fruit slices, pineapple, lotus seeds, and cherry tomatoes, served with udon that soaked up every complex layer of the sauce. The sweet-sour-spice balance is not accidental. Someone in that kitchen thought deeply about this. The fruit doesn't fight the curry, it becomes, each element landing in sequence like a perfectly constructed sentence. The boldness of pairing tropical sweetness with curry heat and earthy udon shouldn't work on paper. On the plate, it's nothing short of revelatory. This is the kind of dish that reminds you why you try the thing on the menu that makes you pause. Order it without hesitation.
View on GoogleTheir mushroom udon has fans of all ages. Worth the hype and it’s amazing how they created this sauce without cream and yet it tastes just like a savoury bowl of mushroom soup! Hope they’ll not overcook or chop up the udon next time as the noodles can do with a bit more bite. The staff is friendly and treats customers with care.
View on GoogleMushroom udon is yumz, imagine creamy mushroom soup but without the creamy guilt. Finished every drop of the soup, loved the freshness of the veggies too. Red bean soup was chock full with goodness, I was so full eating the udon and the two soup. I can't wait to try again!
View on GoogleWent around the place and finally settled on this place. A catchy dish caught my attention, fruit curry noodles. Out of curiosity I tried. The sauce was thick and more of Chinese style and I think with coconut milk. The taste was ok. It's fine if there's pineapple in curry it but when you eat it with dragon fruit and grape, it's kind of weird. Maybe it's just me but I would try other dishes the next time. Oh, and the lady staff was very friendly and helpful.
View on GoogleBeen getting the mushroom udon here for 10 years. I’m no longer vegetarian or frequently in the area but I make it a point to come every few months to enjoy it. One of my favourite meals - you truly don’t miss the meat. It’s hearty, savoury and filling, and the staff are always friendly and efficient. Tables can be small but it’s a cosy shop so that’s just it.
