Chanced upon this chicken rice store whilst looking for breakfast/lunch alternatives. I would say that it's a pretty decent plate of chicken rice at a coffee shop. Had White Thigh with Roasted Wings for $7/8. Portions were generous, added additional rice in the end as I still had meat remaining. Chicken was smooth and tender, rice was fragrant (but note it's grains are broken down into smaller bits, not the whole grain kind like BTK), would say its pretty close to what you get at CC Purvis Street, perhaps I got them at a good day? Auntie was ok, not smiley but definitely not rude etc. Will definitely return when am around the area! Will update with photos the next time too, gobbled up the meal too quickly 😅
View on GoogleOne of my favourite Hainanese chicken rice. Nested within a very popular coffee shop. This stall is a bit unassuming. Run by an old couple. I am usually there at about 11.30am, and by then the roast chickens are usually sold out. Only left the steamed chicken. The chicken is tender. Rice is good. The chilli sauce gives it a bit of kick to the dish. A must have for chicken rice. Drizzle a bit of the thick dark soya sauce, just the pefect match. The taste is subtle. Unlike some stalls, where the taste can be over powering. But this really depends one one's taste. But good enough. Overall a very good plate of chicken rice. The auntie once told me by 1pm they will close the stall, as everything will be sold out.
View on GoogleGood, straightforward steamed Hainan chicken rice. Flavorful and great texture on the chicken, rice was prepared well, and you can scoop out as much chili sauce as you need. Better than tian tian
View on GoogleAt corner of the eating shop. Chicken is tender. Serving of chicken and chicken rice and cucumber are above average for $3.50 . There are condiments to go with it. It well kept and clean and tidy. Closes when daily chicken stock are used up. It close up at 1.30pm when i was there. My 1st and certainly will come again.
View on GoogleAte here twice, the first time getting one of the best and succulent Hainanese chicken. The second time, it was a bit drier.
