I’ve walked past Nobu-ya / Nob’s Kitchen & Sake Bar at Fortune Centre many times, but usually my husband and I would end up at one of the vegetarian spots in the building. Anyways, my girlfriend and I were planning dinner for yesterday and she suggested Fortune Centre. So I looked for non-vegetarian restaurants and found Nobu-ya. The Service -- I want to address the 'poor service' complaints in other reviews first: the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, earnest, and impressively attentive even as the crowd grew. Huge kudos to the boys working the floor yesterday (Monday, May 11) - you guys did a great job! Drinks & Food -- - Sapporo Black: Served ice-cold and hit the spot. - Yuzu Highball: A hit with my dining partner. - Tako Age (Octopus): The highlight! Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and moist inside with just the right 'bite.' - Kaki Fry (Oysters): Best eaten hot; beautifully creamy and briny. - Asari Butter (Clams): Savory and delicious—definitely worth ordering again. - Tori Karaage & Edamame: Both were 'addictively' good. - Ebi Tempura: Good, though the seasoning could have been a bit more aggressive. - Gohan: Standard steamed rice with furikake. Overall -- I will highly recommended this izakaya if you are looking for a close to authentic izakaya experience.Great food, cold drinks, and much better service than the rumors suggest!

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised. First off, the prices at Nobu Ya are relatively a lot more affordable than other Japanese Izakayas in Singapore. Appetizers start around $5 onwards, and everything is quite bite-sized and good for sharing. 💧Water is not complimentary. But wet tissue is! Another huge plus point is that they are very well-staffed! Food was immediately served around 5 minutes after ordering, and the staff constantly checks on you to clear your table or to add on drinks.🙌 What we ordered for 2 pax (Total bill came out to $106.71 after gst): -------- 🍺 Highball ($16.50): I would say this has a slightly higher concentration of whiskey compared to other places, which gives a better bang for the buck given the price. 🐟 Maguro Don ($17.60) - 4/5⭐️: Surprised there was so much rice at the bottom. Even though it was served slightly warm, it was okay. The tuna was very well seasoned in a soy sauce brine, layered with seaweed, sesame seeds, and spring onion which really enhances the umami flavour. A good sashimi bowl option for tuna & rice lovers. 🧆 Kani Croquette ($9.90) - 4/5⭐️: I don't know where the crab or even crabstick was as it's just roux in the core, but the sweetness of onion is very predominant. The panko batter was so crispy and light; the shell shatters beautifully to reveal white creamy hot roux. A good order. 🍲 Oden Mori ($16.50) - 3.5/5⭐️: Portion size is quite big for each item and quite substantial. The soup did not taste overly seasoned. It is what it is: processed food in dashi stock. But it's a homey, familiar choice if you want something soupy. 🥔 Potato Cheese Yaki ($13.20) - 3.5/5⭐️: Rather underwhelming. Just potato wedges sprinkled with cheese and mentai mayo, but because of the uneven distribution, there was basically nothing to dip/ coat withat the bottom. All the flavour is on the top layer. Rather small portion, but a safe option if you want crispy potatoes. 🍗 Tori Kara 10pcs ($13.20) - 3/5⭐️: Saw this common choice online but we both felt we had higher expectations; it basically just tastes like fried chicken poppers that's air-fried. Nothing much interesting even though they provide mayonnaise and an okonomiyaki-style brown sauce on the side. You can miss it. Overall, a rather efficient spot for an affordable Izakaya night out. Would come back for the drinks, croquette, and sashimi rice bowls! ✨️💓

Got lucky and managed to get a seat at Nobuya without a reservation. We were the first in line and only had to wait about 20 minutes, which was totally worth it. The food was amazing, and every dish was done really well. The highlights for me were definitely the salt-grilled chicken wings and the grilled fish — both are absolute must-orders. The flavors were simple but executed perfectly. I can see why this place is so popular, and I’d definitely come back again.

Good overall experience dining at this rare find. One of their specialty is that part of the menu changes every day (yes, every day). There are also daily specials that are available for selection (and because they are prepared and ready, such dishes can be served very fast) Beer selection could be a little more, but possibly because there are pubs and bars nearby, that is why they are not trying to compete in that aspect.

This is my first time visiting this restaurant. The dinner was organized by a fellow church member. We had a party of over 20pax and the owner, Joseph, booked up the whole place just for us. I'm a big fan of izakaya with small bites & good sakes. The food here was fanstastic, the sashimi was very fresh. The grilled skewers were tasty and the Hamachi cheek was also very good. Actually all the dishes we ordered were excellent! Service was prompt too. We tried different types of sake, both hot & cold (jinmai) and the owner got us to try a limited edition of Ozenoyukidoki Hiyaoroshi, which was also very good! I will definitely go back there again.
