A culinary gem tucked away on Middle Road, Herbivore offers a refreshing and elevated approach to plant-based dining that manages to surprise even the most seasoned palate. The Asparagus Bento is a masterclass in balance and presentation. The asparagus is cooked to a precise, vibrant snap, retaining its natural sweetness while being complemented by a sauce that is remarkably flavourful—a nuanced addition that truly elevates the dish beyond the ordinary. The Avocado Maki, meanwhile, is a testament to quality ingredients; the velvety texture of the perfectly ripe avocado provides a luscious mouthfeel that makes every bite immensely satisfying. To round off the experience, discovering that they serve Pearl of the Orient tea from Gryphon was a delightful touch. Its delicate, medium-bodied profile, with subtle, ethereal notes of rose and jasmine, acts as the ideal palate cleanser, harmonising beautifully with the meal. An excellent establishment for those seeking thoughtful, high-quality plant-based cuisine.

This is easily my go to favourite place in the fortune centre! I highly recommend the buckwheat noodle soup and the avocado maki veg sushi. Everything is vegetarian, and everything can be made vegan. They use vegan mayonnaise as a dressing on the sushi. The taste is super flavourful. Especially the hot umami broths. You will leave full and happy!

We made a reservation on Sunday afternoon to celebrate our friend's birthday and the staff were so patient and accommodating. We had a baby with us and accidentally spilt some water on the floor but the staff went above and beyond and helped with cleaning up the mess without any delay. Thank you so much, will definitely be back again :)

Ultimately, we were most impressed by the Unagi Maki and the Asparagus Cheese Bacon (not pictured)! Tori karage was our least favourite and avocado maki is exactly as you would expect.

Tried Herbivore in Singapore and it’s honestly a clever play on your mind. Every dish looks like non-vegetarian Japanese food, but it’s completely vegetarian! The experience was smooth right from the start.Ordering is done directly through a tablet at the table, service is prompt, and the food arrives quickly. You just eat, enjoy, and leave satisfied. If you’re a vegetarian and have always wanted to experience Japanese cuisine without compromise, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
