Whenever I come to this food centre, it feels like I'm a tourist, probably due to the architecture in the vicinity. I'd come for the turtle soup all the time so maybe it's time I try other foods. The turtle soup is have is the top level. I think the price has gone up but it's good! The meat is so tender!

The Kelantan Kway Chap at Berseh Food Centre 166 Jalan Besar, 208877, 2025 Bib Gourmand, tasty, 5/5 and best of all, very cheap. We had Pork Trotter, Chicken Feet, Hoon Thyn, (small intestine), and Kiam Chye and 2 Kway Chap all fir $19, can you believe? In large portion. Wah, best and fresh!

Update2: It’s up and running again but a lot of stalls are not open today (29th Dec 2025). Toilets, seats, tray returns, even the fans are much more neater and cleaner. Washing basins too. Let’s keep it that way :) Update: There will be renovations and repair works ongoing from 29th Sep onwards to 29th Dec 2025. Love this place! A lot of good, yummy, delicious food that are well liked by locals :) So many stalls are not registered on Googlemaps so I'll just spam the shops here!

Went for the Jalan Besar Mutton Soup. The male owner was helpful and suggested the relevant portion since it is my first try. Soup has chinese herbs meat was soft and tripe was clean. Overall nice experience and worth the try.

This hawker centre has been around since the 1970s & still carries an old-school charm in the heart of Jalan Besar. It has 2 levels of cooked food stalls, with only a few open in the morning — most come alive at lunchtime & by late evening the place winds down. Known for traditional favourites & heritage dishes, one can find authentic hawker flavours & long-time family-run stalls here. Not as hectic as the bigger centres in the CBD, but that’s part of its appeal — a quieter spot to enjoy true local food.
