If I had a nickel for every time a hotpot bbq place lost power/lights out, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice. Everything I don't mention, I either don't care enough or it's fine/good/great/it's obvious from someone even if they've never been there 8pm to 9:pm Anyways, originally I didn't like this place since my dad he saw it on TikTok. Do I think this looks like a cool place? Yes. Eh it was a crowded day. Had to wait around 15 minutes to get seated. They don't have a restroom, it's in the empty mall next door. The Food options are a lot but they're in small sections. Too small for the amount of people crowding it. Grapes, tomatoes, watermelon were the only true fruit options. My brother got sauce, don't know where from. When we first went it, it felt like staff was...overworked? Or there just wasn't enough? Too busy cleaning tables I guess. I have to say the atmosphere reminded me of old...small bars? Never been to a bar, just the feeling this is where a local office worker goes after a long shift and what tourists call a small business. Staff was helpful nonetheless. More about food, maybe it was just may say of messy eating, but the meat I got and the tomato broth, had a smell I can't say is pleasant. Also no trash cans? Had a pile of tissues. No utensils? Ate with the soup spoon they gave me plus chopsticks. There were desert options and a small spoon would have been nice. Overall, place was messy and crowded(probably related) and no signs for anything. There was a counter for something...? Would I go again? Nah. I think the place in Chinatown is better(the other one which also lost power) it's cleaner and less busy and more side dish options but less meat options. Also they had clams. And if you don't know this, you want your raw clams to be closed. Most of theirs were open. Eh didn't taste much of a difference anyways. Just something my mom used to say. Pros: cool looking, staff are nice, free(?) drinks Cons: not suitable for me as I don't like all you can eat that are like this. Messy(probably got seated in a weird place) busy for no reason(not hating on your business just saying it isn't good enough to be this hyped up like seriously why was there one group before us and like 3 groups after us to get seated and we had to wait outside cause no room) Okay that's it from a teenager who doesn't like to go outside.

We wanted to have some late night food and decided to try LaJiangShan hotpot. We were given a great seat and were introduced to great service while seated down and was asked to grab some food as it was buffet style while we waited for our soup bases that we chose to arrive. Much to our disappointment, we finished choosing the first round of meats and ingredients but the soup bases were not served. The staff discussed among themselves and started arguing that the soup bases were not selected which was not accurate and there was so much debate internally until the soup bases were served in our individually pots. The seafood was not very fresh and the quality of the beef were not as good as expected even with 4-5 types of selections. There are quite a number of variety of food but the quality and taste are on a lower level. Although it was buffet style, drinks were charged separately which does not make sense for a buffet. May not plan a return visit.

Good variety, but pricing on the eatigo app needs updating The steamboat and BBQ buffet offers a great variety and selection of food, including crab, prawns, and different kinds of well-marinated meats. They also serve sushi in the evening after 5 PM, which was a nice addition! I booked this through Eatigo, but took off a star due to pricing transparency. During payment, I realized the soup base and drinks were charged separately, and the base buffet price didn't match what was listed on the app. Overall, the food quality is decent and worth trying, but the management really needs to update their pricing on the app to avoid surprising customers at bill settlement.

If you’re looking for a late-night fix near Dhoby Ghaut, this is it. We hit up La Jiang Shan at 1 AM and the vibes were still great. Love the personal hotpot concept—I could have my spicy Mala while my friend had the Herbal Chicken. The buffet spread is massive: everything from fresh prawns and sliced beef to yakitori and even a DIY snow ice machine for dessert. It's affordable, clean, and the air-con is strong (which you’ll need with all that grilling!). Definitely coming back.

Don’t be misled by earlier reviews! This restaurant doesn’t offer any discounts on Eatigo! Although the listed buffet price is 29.9++, the final cost per person comes to $45—because water, condiments, and soup base all incur extra charges. 💸 The dining environment here is truly poor. The tables are tiny, and there’s no room to stretch your legs. Seating consists of hard, round metal stools with no cushions—extremely uncomfortable! With a 90-minute buffet time limit and wide table spacing, it’s hard to eat and chat at the same time. Most diners here just bury their heads in their food, rarely engaging in conversation. Yet even so, the indoor noise level is high. The background music is loud and deliberately DJ-style with heavy bass—clearly not designed for a relaxing meal! Plus, the KTV upstairs sends booming bass beats down through the structure, making the soundscape chaotic and overwhelming. If you’re sensitive to bass, your heart might feel strained 😣 🔊 To be fair, the ingredient variety is decent. Besides the usual hotpot meats, they offer crab 🦀️, crayfish 🦞, and various house-made appetizers. After 5 p.m., they even serve “sushi.” You can tell the owner puts effort into curating the food selection. 🍲 The marinated sea snails are quite unique—rarely seen in other hotpot restaurants. Sea intestines are another unusual ingredient. The fruit salad is okay, but aside from watermelon, all the fruits are canned 🥫! There’s no dedicated barbecue meat section; all meats are meant for hotpot. Enoki mushrooms are pre-wrapped in bacon, which is unfriendly to diners who don’t eat 🐷. 🥓 Crayfish may be the restaurant’s main draw, but whether boiled or grilled, they’re bland without seasoning! Worse still, the condiment station doesn’t include any dipping sauces for seafood. Even the sesame sauce for hotpot lacks classic pairings like chive flower paste or fermented tofu—quite unprofessional. 🥫 If you’re coming specifically for the “sushi,” you’ll likely be disappointed. Their homemade sushi is bizarre—almost every piece contains fruit. If rice with fruit were truly delicious, why doesn’t the birthplace of sushi use that combo? Innovation is fine, but random mixing turns into culinary chaos. Unsurprisingly, it tastes bad. 🍣 The biggest reason people won’t return is still the poor dining setup. The tables are just too small, making the whole eating experience feel cramped. You can’t enjoy the happiness that good food should bring. While this place has plenty of creative ideas, they don’t add much value—in fact, they come at the cost of traditional hotpot essentials. As a hotpot–barbecue hybrid, this restaurant doesn’t offer the best value for money. 👎 Anyway, I’d rather give it 3.5 rating yet this google review don’t have such option!
