It was nice and friendly and learned lots of things and we found out information about how gems are made. Activities were curated for children and we spent more than 2 hours here. Kids get to buy precious stones home. Mr Kunming and his staff were very patient with the kids and explained how precious stones and gems are formed.
View on GoogleUnique museum which we came across due to Children's Season. Our guide, Jo, was very approachable, understanding and had a great sense of humour. She also kept the kids and the adults entertained with all the different kinds of stones that they have, being very patient with the children. My kid and I definitely learnt a lot despite our initial objective to visit (for the stamp 😂). We'll be back for sure (because I love the stones)!
View on GoogleOne of Singapore’s best museums. An amazing place for a free visit and free hour-long tour. Be sure to book the tour in advance. Each exhibit has a lot to see and the museum’s collection of gems is word class. Jo, our guide, was kind and insightful. She had a story for each exhibit and took time to answer our questions. The gift shop was also great. Be sure to ask for food recommendations at the end of your visit!
View on GoogleGood place to visit in Singapore! And it is free!! Very informative museum. Tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. My visit was so good as the owner came out from his and he shared his geology and gemstones knowledge. Mr. Tay is very experienced and knowledgeable. I would come again and bring my parents for next visit.
View on GoogleWent for Gem Museum at night event. Really good variety of gems. Surprised to also see some fossils and meteorite samples. Staff were really friendly, patient and kind. Only felt uncomfortable when we were asked to enter a room with 2 ladies and gemstones. Staff did not inform us what the session was about. We thought they would explain more about the stones. Instead they gave advice based on gemstone collected. We don't believe in this and felt uncomfortable. Staff should inform visitors what that session was about in advance and allow us the choice in whether to go for the experience. Otherwise really great display. Enjoyed the geode breaking that we bought as well.
