I wanted some familiar food, and given that I hadn't eaten properly through the day, I was hungry and tired, and was looking for an early dinner. I first checked if all carda are acceptable. One other place only accepted the local card or cash. Once they confirmed, I setlled down for my grub. I first asked for Puri Masala. The puri seemed like it was actually made with wheat flour and that was a huge plus. The masala was of my preferred, not too solid like the stuffing in the dosai. The coconut chutney had an ever so slightl bite to it from the green chilli. Next was podi dosai. The dosai was a good size and the podi was sprinkled generously. The red chutney was decent and so was the sambar. The only put off was the podi tasted raw, owing without doubt to not having roasted the ingredients properly before grinding it to a coarse powder. I wonder if they made the podi or sourced it. The service was largely efficient though my waiter seemed to hace forgotten me, someone finally took the 2nd order. The staff were quite pleasant While billing, I was told that since I was swiping a visa card, I'd be charged an additional few cents on a 9 dollar bill and I didn't mind that. Overall, a simple place serving good Tamil Nadu food. Bonus is there's a historic and beautiful temple right across the road.

Came here on Sunday to have masala thosai for lunch, but it was sold out even before 12:30 pm. So we had plain thosai amd idly to share. They were served with the same dips, coconut chutney, lentils curry (very savoury, a little heavy handed on salt here) and spicy tomato chutney. The dips were well done and went well with the thosai/idly. Prefer thosai to be a little more crispy. Completed the meal with a nice creamy cup of Horlicks. Will return for masala thosai another time.

Had a wonderful experience at Suriya Restaurant! The menu offers a great variety of authentic South Indian vegetarian dishes at very reasonable prices. The **masala dosa** and **ghee roast** were perfectly crispy and flavorful, while the **idli** and **vadai** were soft, fresh, and served with delicious chutneys and sambar. We also tried the **pongal** and **mini tiffin**, which were hearty and satisfying. The **kothu prata** and **chapati** options are great if you’re looking for something filling, and everything tasted freshly prepared. To top it off, the **mango lassi** and **filter coffee** were refreshing and complemented the meal nicely. The self-service setup is efficient, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone craving affordable and authentic vegetarian Indian food in Singapore. Will definitely be back!

Food is fresh, delicious & service is great. Prices are very reasonable. I STRONGLY recommend this restaurant for south indian vegetarian food lovers. I'm going here everyday for the rest of my trip.. Thank you Suriya restaurant management. 🙏

I ate at Suriya Indian Restaurant in Singapore and ordered the masala dosa which was recommended by the staff along with a mango lassi. Since I don’t know much about Indian food I was a bit skeptical, but the dosa was really good, filling, and reasonably priced. The mango lassi was tasty too. I will definitely be coming back to try the onion dosa next time.
