We visited Kamala Villas around 7:00 p.m on a weekday, and as usual, the place was quite busy, which already says a lot about its popularity. Despite the crowd, the staff welcomed us promptly and arranged seating without any delay. The service was smooth and attentive throughout our visit. The menu is largely vegetarian, focusing on South Indian items like dosas, vadas, and chutneys. I’m not entirely sure if they serve non-vegetarian food, but it’s clearly a vegetarian-forward restaurant. Had masala dosa and vadai set there. The food was excellent: • The dosa was perfectly crispy • The vada was fresh and tasty • They served three different varieties of chutney along with one sambar, all of which complemented the dishes really well Everything tasted authentic and well prepared. When it comes to pricing, I felt the food was slightly on the expensive side. However, considering the restaurant’s location in Little India and its popularity, the prices are still reasonable. That said, it does feel a bit premium for a casual South Indian vegetarian meal. The only downside was the ambience. The place felt quite cramped, especially during peak hours, which affected the overall dining comfort.
View on GoogleAbsolutely loved my visit to Komala Vilas! The vegetarian food is delicious and authentic, served in generous portions. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I especially enjoyed the dosa and thali—everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Great spot for a hearty meal, whether you’re vegetarian or just looking to try something new. Highly recommend this place!
View on GoogleWe had lunch (South Indian meals). Paid SGD 25.72 for two plates. Taste was good and hot. They use disposable cups for water, which I don’t like. Stainless steel cups are great with meals. Toilet and wash area needs improvement. Overall it is a good place for vegetarian food.
View on GoogleAuthentic South Indian restaurant at Serangoon road. Dishes are tasty and good. Rates are very competitive. Ambiance is well maintained and service is slow. Mini tiffin combo is worth for the price. Masala tea also tastes good. Staircase to the first floor dining area is little steep. ♿️❌
View on GoogleExcellent & authentic Indian food. Located in a traditional type old building & food served here are really good. It is one of the ancient traditional South Indian restaurant, though the food ordered are bit delayed the taste of the items severed are really very good. Defenetly recommended for veg lovers. Attaching bill for costing reference.
