Came across this unassuming restaurant a few years ago and have been coming back whenever I crave for Indian food. Quaint place w no fancy food display, you would think this place isn’t worth a shot but this is where you’re wrong. I’ve been greeted w consistent food quality every.single.time. Food takes about 10-15 mins to be served because they make EVERYTHING upon order. You can see their giant mixer at the back of the restaurant where I believe dough for naans, parathas are made. Masala chai is also made upon order - cup by cup on their stove w sweetness customized to your liking. Only a real foodie will understand the satisfaction when you find a no frills place serving plain good food. Thank you Ashoka tandoor restaurant!

Note to self: 12.6.22 Samosa chat - 4/5 (owner will ask if need 1 or 2 samosa, better order 1 is enough for 1 person) Garlic naan - 3/5 (in fact ok, but not good to eat without curry, should have ordeeed with Paneer). Masala tea - 4.5/5 (quite good, like the mamak type but better) Total $14 17.7.22 Stuffed Paratha - 4.5/5 - very good. But a bit dry after eating, so better get some gravy to eat with. This is enough for 1 meal

Best Parathas in Singapore. Similar to the tawa aaloo Gobi paneer Parathas you will get in North India. Reasonably priced and homely taste. Ambience is of a dhaba. Highly recommended! Must try all the parathas, dahi and chai.

This is a real example of don’t judge a book by its cover. This place might not look as aesthetic as some of the expensive Indian restaurants close by, but I can assure you the food here is hard to fault. We had a butter chicken, butter naan and garlic naan finished with some jalebis for 27-30$ for 2 pax. Some of the restaurants close by will charge 50-60 $ for the same! And the best part? I’ve been eating butter chicken all my life, and more often than not I find my hands in various shades of red, but today? They were as pretty as they always were. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food and loves ‘Dhabas’. Though the seating is not the best, you can take away some food and I promise you won’t be disappointed. The people are friendly and the food is hard to not like! I’d recommend the butter chicken and mutton masala.
