they went viral online since they are one of the oldest Nasi Padang restaurants in Singapore and they are closing. this made me visit there and the line was very long. I waited almost 1 hour and by the time when I went to choose the dishes, it was almost empty so had to choose with very limited selections. Rice was cheap/low graded and other dishes were just ordinary or just lower than my expectations. I paid $15.8 for my order. After the meal, I suffered with diarrhea even while I was sleeping at night. Overall horrible experience. I realized that the oldest restaurant doesn't mean they serve solid and good quality food with good taste.
View on GoogleHad my last meal at Warung Pariaman today before they close for good on 31 Jan 2026. 78 years! Really end of an era. Their Nasi Padang still damn authentic, taste never change. Will truly miss this place and the memories. Thanks for everything, Warung Pariaman.
View on GoogleHaven't been here for ages. But still the best nasi padang in town except prices have gone up really a lot since the last time I was here years ago. But the food is still as good if not better than last time. And the friendly and cordial owner and family is such a warm feeling dining there. Ayam bakar still taste as good as I remember and their beef rendang is absolutely the best.
View on GoogleMy parents, having eaten here a couple of times, recommended the beef rendang. The sauce and meat itself were flavoursome, and the other dishes were also tasty. The rice is low quality, however. It’s a very popular place, so you have to come early or there may not be any food left. Portions are kind of small. The first time, I chalked it up to us arriving late and there being very little food left, but during our visit today (we came early), the amounts seemed especially meagre for four people. The bill worked out to more than $10 per person, yet not everyone was full. You don’t get value for your money. Also, you don’t know how much things cost and how your bill is calculated. Service is mixed. The lady seems gregarious, but the younger man has a standoffish attitude.
View on GoogleIt’s sad to see one of the better “Padang Melayu (not Indonesia)” in Singapore is closing its doors, with its signature smoky Beef Rendang, smoky Sambal, and Grilled Chicken (Bakar). I was happy to see many regular patrons like myself come to support them, but was extremely upset by how the owners/team (not sure if they tried) managed the influx of us. As most reviewers noted over the past few days, the Q is super long and received barely any attention. Today, 26/01, 830am, I would have assumed that the team would be better prepared given the days of a high support influx, but it was upsetting that it was not the case. I 100% recommend that you don't join the “take away” Q unless you have the 2+ hours to spare and have the calmness to accept that by the time it's your turn (with no communication to inform the line), the signature or most of the dishes are most likely gone. I don't understand why most of the team members was focused on the Q for “Eating In,” which results in 5x faster service vs. takeaways + better luck getting the key dishes before they are gone. It’s sad to see older people having to queue (stand) for that long and end up going back empty-handed. For sure, the owners/team can better manage the whole experience, with the support they've received over the past few days. Maybe even bounce back soon. But maybe they have given up, and maintaining their well-known customer service experience is not a priority, as they might not be planning to reboot the business. Who are we to know these things, but it's just sad that it has to end this way… Thank you, Pariaman Team, for all the good memories and God bless each one of you.
