Landmark Islamic house of worship in the Kampong Glam Malay Heritage District, with guided tours.

A century later in 1928, Denis Santry, an architect of Swan and McLaren, employed the Islamic-Saracenic style that combines ideas from Indian and Islamic traditions, designing a Mosque that incorporated the use of minarets and balusters.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A beautiful mosque and a charming neighbourhood 🕌 We had the chance to visit Sultan Mosque during our stay in Singapore, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The mosque itself is absolutely beautiful, very spacious, exceptionally clean and perfectly maintained. The interior is airy and air-conditioned, making it a very peaceful and comfortable place. I also had the opportunity to pray there, and everything went extremely well. There is a genuine sense of calm and serenity inside. I also highly recommend taking the time to explore the neighbourhood surrounding the mosque. It was honestly one of the areas of Singapore we enjoyed the most. The colourful streets are full of character, with wonderful Arab, Egyptian and Turkish influences, as well as plenty of restaurants and cafés. The whole area has an almost Mediterranean feel to it — lively yet relaxed, warm and very chilled, exactly the kind of atmosphere we love. A wonderful discovery, both for the beauty and peacefulness of the mosque itself and for the unique atmosphere of the surrounding neighbourhood. Definitely worth visiting when you are in Singapore! 🕌🇸🇬✨

I visited the Sultan Mosque area during a short leg of my Singapore trip. Even though it was quite crowded on the weekend, the mosque remains an amazing historical landmark and a must-see. Highlights. Atmosphere: Despite the weekend rush, the area felt incredibly peaceful and respectful. Architecture: It is a stunning piece of history with a grand presence—perfect for those interested in Singapore’s cultural heritage. Timing: I didn't stay long, but the area is very accessible for a quick visit. A beautiful, significant landmark that captures a vital part of Singapore’s history. Well worth stopping by, even if you are short on time!

This is the most well known mosque in Singapore and is located in the heart of its lovely Arab quarter. Dating back originally to 1826, it is built in a fusion of Indian and Arab architectural design and with a spacious interior. It is open for Muslim worshippers who wish to pray as well as for guided tours for non Muslims in multiple languages. I found the management very friendly and welcoming.
