Decent food. Closed on 31/12/2020. Went on 29/12/2020, wanted Chinese tea but was told no more. Wanted dessert, no more. Wanted some chilli and was given some watered down Chicken Rice Chilli. Added half a Hainanese Chicken and was told no more chicken rice chilli. There are many other dishes that we wanted to try but most are OOS. As customers, we had to ask so what is left in stock on the menu to save ourselves the trouble. They seemed like they can’t wait to close the restaurant down. It’s a pity that a restaurant with more than 80 years of heritage had to end like this. I really liked the pork chop a lot, it doesn’t get too greasy or overwhelming the end. Hence a 3 star.
View on GoogleMooi Chin is an old school hainanese restaurant. Still has the best old school chicken chop, other dishes to try are the kurau with chili and the chop suey. One of my favs.
View on GoogleTrusted great tasting food for generations. Sambal fried pomfret, Hainanese pork chop, black sauce chicken
View on GoogleHave been patronising this restaurant since I was a child. I used to dine there at least once a month, especially at their previous location at Funan Centre. Highly recommend their Hainanese chicken chop, beancurd with crabmeat and deep fried fish slice with sambal. Good service with unique dishes which I have yet to find anywhere else. Do give them a try before they close down on 31 Dec 2020.
View on GoogleA great place to have Hainanese classics. The restaurant is located within Village Hotel Bugis. The interiors transport you back to the 1980s which sets you into the mood for some old-school Hainanese food. The Hainanese pork chops was tender and juicy. The Hainanese mutton soup was delightful and quite refined, I had a few helpings of the soup. The mutton however can be a little inconsistent, dry on some and very tender on others. The black fungus used for the soup was huge. We also tried their signature sambal pomfret which they cut up into portions for us at the table. It was crispy, spicy and fragrant.
