Food was ridiculously good!!! Could not recommend this place more. 1. Crab cakes: very nice and crunchy, sauce was so good we saved it to dip our wedges in as well 2. Lamb stew: supposedly served with tomato wedges and black bean rice but i definitely didnt mind that they replaced it with garlic bread bc it was also delicious (soft on the inside and crusty on the outside)!! lamb is not too gamey, and the sauce is incredibly moreish. my favourite dish of the night! 3. Jerk chicken: this one surprised me bc it tasted so much like some kind of asian curry! it is also extremely spicy so beware haha couldn't imagine eating all of this on my own. my friends really loved this one! 4. Spicy sliced beef: doesnt taste like the normal rendang we eat, that's for sure haha and it wasnt spicy at all after the jerk chicken xD also incredibly good, but a tad bit salty for me. Overall the only downside was the waiting time - I think it took more than half an hour for the food to come, and the only other customers were a group of two. But otherwise the food was incredibly good, flavourful and unique. Prices and portions were really decent too (~$90 for a very fulfilling meal for 4). Hope to come back again soon!

A few teething problems regarding the seasoning of some of their dishes, which I personally felt could’ve been a touch saltier, but that can easily be changed. What cannot, and shouldn’t be changed is the incredible hospitality and warmth that the proprietors had. It was great to see a young restaurant like this one fully booked out on a Friday evening, and rightly so.

Nice little spot serving cuban food is a casual atmosphere. The food is lovely - the must-try is a pulled goat curry on flatbread (literally everyone in the restaurant was having it on that night) and it’s great for sharing. We also had the beef skewers (not so much in quantity but the flavours were perfect) and the ceviche, that could have done with a bit more seasoning. The only downside I see would be the service, who looked rather inexperienced sometimes (e.g cleaning plates on the table while someone is still eating, offering the menu after the mains while knowing they were out of desserts, etc). 5 stars still, because it’s always good to find a spot with some character and some love that goes in the food. Some minor adjustments to be made, but everything to become the perfect date/friend outing spot!

La Boca Bistro Bar is a newly opened Cuban / Caribbean fusion place offering great value food as well as drinks. Some of the dishes we have tasted are as follows 1-Caribbean inspired fried salted cod-fish. This is a winner to me, as the codfish is of top quality and a perfect starter or even as a tapas to go with some drinks for the evening 2-Crispy plantain with homemade sauce. This is so thin and crispy that you don't feel heavy having it and the sauce is the secret here 3-Pull Goat Curry on Flatbread. Homemade flatbread that is thin and crispy, with slow-cooked pull-goat meat and crunchy cashew on top. Defintely a unique dish that will be popular 4-Tempeh Picadillo. Cuban style vegan picadillo with fresh tomatoes, raisins, olives. Deliciously soft texture, very yummy 5-Mixed Seafood Stew. Tomato-based stew filled with delicious seafood makes it a great dish The overall price is very affordable and without GST. Equally attractive will be their drinks when they are fully opened and they will serve beer and cocktails, especially rum-based drinks. Situated in the heart of Kampong Glam, this Cuban Fusion bistro bar will bring the tropic, briny breezes of the Caribbean islands and seas to you in a burst of rich flavours.

Great little Cuban place in Bugis. I ordered the beef rendang with dipping bread. It took about 10mins for the food to be served. I really enjoyed the food. I also ordered the mock tail as it was a non drinking day and it too was well balanced. Not overly sweet and a bit sour. The internal paintjob is also very inviting and happy. Well worth the visit.
