kopi c gao siew dai 5/5 thick and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness to bring out an almost ideal coffee taste soft boiled eggs 4/5 big yolks with deep yellow colour, tasted fresh imo and helps to curb sweetness of kaya bun kaya butter bun 3.5/5 tastes like homemade kaya, not too sweet with fragrant pandan flavour. does not suit my preference as bread is on the thick side with little toasted profile. also lacks butter imo donut 3/5 one of the few traditional donut spots left, soft and fluffy coated in sugar but dough lacks flavour
View on GoogleWanted to get my daily kaya toast fix somewhere new, so I stopped by YY Kafei Dian. Arrived around 8:15 on a Saturday morning—place was packed with a short line, which is always a good sign. The café is very clean, and service is impressively fast and efficient. They did get my coffee order wrong and didn’t replace it, which was a bit disappointing. What stood out was their toast—they use a soft, almost brioche-style bun, which was super fluffy and really tasty, a nice change from the usual. Overall, a solid spot to start your day, especially if you’re around the Raffles Hotel area.
View on GoogleYY Kafei Dian feels like stepping into old Singapore with just enough modern touches to keep things comfortable. The kaya toast here uses proper old-school buns — thick, fluffy, slightly crisp outside, and perfect with the rich kaya and butter combination. Soft eggs, traditional kopi and tea, and even the cakes bring back that nostalgic coffee shop experience that’s getting harder to find. What I really liked was how they preserved the old-school ambiance while quietly modernising the operations. The place still feels very 80s/90s Singapore kopitiam, but with digital payments, order buzzers, and smoother service flow. It’s nostalgic without feeling outdated. Simple food done properly. No overcomplication, no gimmicks — just solid traditional breakfast culture preserved well.
View on GoogleDelicious, thick, soft, Kaya Toast Bun! Plenty of kaya spread in this thing, matched with coffee makes for an awesome kopitiam breakfast! Place can get crowded at even strange times of the day. Queue can get lengthy so be prepared for that. Tables can remain uncleaned at times due to the visitor volume, but staff are very quick to help! Would stop by again if less crowded!
View on GoogleCame here around 08.25 and the que is already long. The que is around 10 minutes, but the food gets served really quick. I ordered the classic Kaya Toast & Teh C Siew Dai. The total is $4 for da bao (take away). I really love the Kaya Toast here!!! The jam is perfect, and also the texture—it uses a kind of brioche bread but they toasted it so it is very crusty. It's really good when I hit the butter, just what I needed! 🥹 also since I ordered my Teh C siew dai (less sweet), it is really the definition of 'slight sugar'! Not sweet at all, just perfect 🫶
