⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited during their 20th Anniversary promotion and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and value for money. The current promotion is fantastic — purchase $120 worth of vouchers for only $100, which is an instant 20% savings. Definitely worth taking advantage of before it ends. The food was consistently good across the board. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavourful and well-executed. The highlight for us was definitely the steamboat. The soup was rich and tasty, and the ingredients were fresh and generous. If you’re visiting for the first time and not sure what to order, the steamboat is a must-try. Service was efficient and the atmosphere was great for family gatherings and group meals. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience and excellent value, especially with the anniversary promotion. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back again — not only because the food is Jin Ho Jiak, but also because we still have vouchers left to use! 😅😂
View on GoogleStill one of my favourite places for fish soup. The highlight is definitely the broth which is rich and smooth flavour that’s comforting without feeling too heavy. The a la carte dishes are also worth trying if you’re dining with family or friends, so don’t just stop at the fish soup. A must come early for lunch otherwise be prepared to queue. Not the cheapest around but well worth the price.
View on GoogleXin Yuan Ji (新源记鱼头炉) I had dinner here with my daughter. We were lucky because the queue was short, and we only waited a little while before getting a table. The food was served quickly, and it was tasty. We enjoyed our meal.
View on GoogleI’ve been eating at Xin Yuan Ji (the original Bugis outlet) for years, and it remains one of my absolute go-to spots. While they’re best known for fish soup noodles, what really sets them apart is the broth. Their soup base is brewed from old mother hen, slow-cooked over days — the result is an incredibly rich, collagen-laden broth that’s silky, nourishing, and deeply flavourful without being heavy. Every spoonful feels comforting and indulgent at the same time. Absolutely delicious. Beyond the noodles, their à la carte menu is well worth exploring too — a pleasant surprise for anyone who thinks this is “just” a fish soup place. I dropped by recently to check out their Chinese New Year reunion dinner packages, and they’re already open and ready for booking. Given how popular this place is, I’d strongly recommend making a reservation early if you want to secure a seat. A longtime favourite for good reason — consistently comforting food, quality ingredients, and a broth that keeps me coming back year after year. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleHad a slight queue when we came on a Sat evening. Food was served quite fast and was an overall a decent Zi char place with fish heat steamboat. The dining area is quite small with simple table seatings. It is hard to hear each other is the place is quite cramped. It is also quite hard to find parking as it’s at Bugis.
