very cosy zi char place. i ordered the hainanese chicken rice (steamed) which was cooked to perfection tbh! i was surprised by how tender and savoury the chicken was. the rice was also fragrant and not too greasy. for sides, we got the fish maw soup and the chap chye. the soup was well-seasoned and tasted very comforting. the vegetables were also full of flavour (i couldn't stop eating them). overall, great experience! i love that the portions they gave were very generous too.

A cosy tuck away in Seah Street. The chicken rice was fragrant, paired with a delightful green scallion sauce. I was especially impressed with the delightful Hainanese Chap Chye, which is easily hands-down the best Chap Chye I have tried. The cabbage was well-simmered and flavourful. I enjoyed the Teh C here too. The tea base is fragrantly smooth and the milk adds a silky finish to it.

This Hainanese chicken rice restaurant absolutely blew me out of the water. The rice was fragrant, the chicken was tender and flavourful, the cucumber slices were fresh, and the house green chilli provides a nice but mild kick. The braised eggplant is one of the best eggplant dishes I've ever had in my life — there were crispy bits inside along with the eggplant and minced meat, which made it the star of the show. The Thai-style tofu was great as well, though I personally wished that it was a little more silky inside. I got barley water as my drink, and it was standard. On top of everything, the prices mean that I will definitely be coming here again.

Sing Swee Kee has been serving heritage Hainanese chicken rice since 2001 on Seah Street. The Twin Phoenix Chicken Platter is a modern reinterpretation of their traditional recipes while preserving the same beloved flavours passed down through family generations. Think of this as Peking Duck Wraps but chicken, and every bite is customised exactly the way you like it. Twin Phoenix Platter combines both poached and roast chicken with wraps, crispy chicken rice bits and four house-made sauces. ➊ Twin Phoenix Chicken Platter S$32 - poached and roast chicken, thin crepe-like wraps, cucumber and coriander, crispy chicken rice bits, four house-made sauces: Classic, Mala, Hoisin, Kecap Manis. ➋ Fish Head Curry S$30 - this is quite good, the right amount of thickness and spiciness. Drenched my fragrant rice with the curry gravy. ➌ Fragrant Rice S$1.50

Tried their chicken rice for lunch today and it was satisfying. The chicken thigh was tender juicy with just the right texture. Nice touch that they offer both the classic hainanese rice and the traditional rice balls, so you can choose what you’re in the mood for.
